There is some bleaching to the top, surface scratches and some wear, but it is a solid table. Surface wear to the chairs, with a few flecks in veneer, noticeably along the upper portion of the bar back, but they are solid in construction.

JOSEPH GUARINI (EMILE MENNESSON); a full-size French violin of good quality, with interior label for 'Joseph Guarini, Anno 1876, no. 391, Emile Mennesson...', length of one-piece back 35.5cm, retailed by William Hargreaves of Manchester, cased with two silver mounted bows, one indistinctly stamped.N.B. The French violin maker Emile Mennesson came from a family of music merchants and piano makers in Reims. He used the name Joseph Guarini as a pseudonym. It is understood that his best instruments bore both his name and his pseudonym and this is the case with this example.Additional InformationFormerly the property of an orchestral musician, this violin is generally in good overall condition with one crack to table running vertically beside the tail piece.

A RARE AND LARGE PAINTED ENAMEL 'EUROPEAN SUBJECT' DOUBLE-SIDED SCREENQianlong, the zitan stand and frame, 19th centuryExquisitely enamelled with an exotic scene of a European gentleman and lady carrying a spear and fan respectively, beneath a large tree and beside a table, looking at a boy striking a 'fish-monster' chime, all within a mountainous landscape with European-style buildings in the distance, the reverse with bamboo and a gnarled branch issuing pomegranates and blossoms, three birds perched on the branch, another in flight, further painted with a poetic inscription and two seals, all within a zitan frame and stand.
