An early 20th century French metalwares vermeil dressing table box, maker's mark indecipherable but stamped BOIN TABURET A PARIS, Minerva head 1st standard for 950/1000 standard silver, of cylindrical form, decorated all over with engine turned engraving, foliate and bead rims, friction fitting cover similarly decorated, topped with a circular repoussé plaque featuring a bird feeding a chick amongst foliage, 6cm diameter, 11.5cm high, 10oztProvenance: From the estate of the late Barry Lock (1934-2021)French goldsmiths, George Boin and his son-in-law Emile Taburet, created Maison Boin-Taburet in Paris around 1875. They made silver pieces inspired by the beautiful dinner services of the eighteenth century. Through lavish events at a number of international shows and exhibitions, Boin-Taburet contributed directly to the revival of this style.
A late 19th century Austro-Hungarian silver 12-piece dressing table set, mark of Josef Carl Klinkosch, Dianakopf 3rd standard for 800/1000 standard silver, Vienna, Double Headed Eagle marked, each piece decorated with a band of foliate engraving, comprising a wooden backed table mirror, an oval tray, a chamberstick, a hat pin cushion, 3 rectangular fluted glass containers with rounded edges and detachable friction fitting covers, 2 round fluted glass containers with detachable friction fitting covers, a double sided hand mirror and 2 urn shaped fluted glass scent bottles with ground glass stoppers, silver collars and friction fitting detachable silver covers, maximum dimensions of mirror 54 x 46cm, 31.8ozt weighable silver Josef Carl Klinkosch (1822-1888) is widely regarded as one of the finest Austrian silversmiths of the late 19th century. His clients were drawn from the upper middle classes and the elite nobility of Europe. From 1855, Klinkosch held the Imperial Warrant to Emperor Franz Joseph I of Austria and fulfilled numerous commissions for the Austrian Royal Family. He was knighted in 1879, after which he became known as Joseph Carl Ritter von Klinkosch. He retired in 1884 and the company passed to his two sons, Arthur and Isidor. In 1918, the company was acquired by Arthur Krupp and was incorporated under the name 'J.C. Klinkosch AG'. The company was deleted from the Commercial Register in 1972.
A pair of late 19th century silver plated candlesticks, mark of Elkington & Company, 1892, each loaded fluted square base with turned corners, double knopped column, fluted sconce and detachable wax pan, underside with green baize table protector, 26cm highProvenance:Ballykeel House, Hillsborough, Northern IrelandOverall in fair condition with no obvious sign of repair. Some surface scratches and minor bruising, as to be expected and commensurate with use and age. Loss to the silver plating all over, particularly on the raised areas. Some wear and deterioration to the green baize protectors to the underside. Each numbered 2756 within the well of the sconce, and signed and marked to the edge of the base. No apparent leaning and both stand firm on a flat surface with no wobble. Both with loaded bases.

Muller & Son (Berthold Muller) 1910, the realistically cast and chased ornament modelled as a grouse pecking at the ground, with hollow body and fully marked friction fitting detachable head, maximum height 32cm, 20oztProvenance: From the estate of the late Julie Cecil (1942-2022)Overall in fair to good condition with no signs of repairs. Some surface scratching all over as to be expected and commensurate with use. Bruises and dent to the right shoulder. Tail section a little out of shape to one side. Hallmarks and other marks clear and crisp. Head detaches and reattaches satisfactorily. A little wobble when on a flat surface.
