A group of ebony dressing table items to include two hand brushes, a hand mirror, three pairs of glove stretchers, and a group of similar ivorine items, contained in a vintage leather suitcase, also a small collection of various fans, and a Lawtex silk and black lace decorated parasol.
A very unusual 19th century Pollard oak centre table, the square moulded crossbanded top carved to the corner friezes with angelic masks above Gothic square section central column to quadripartite base and four figurative scrolling capitol feet, each depicting a different character, with carved shaped apron, width 106cm. CONDITION REPORT: This is not an extending table. Section of crossbanded veneer missing. Split to top. Some light lifting and unusual designs in veneer. Possibly replaced or repaired.
An Epstein Art Deco birdseye maple veneered dining room suite comprising dining table with rounded rectangular top with re-entrant corners raised on twin slab supports, and six leather upholstered rounded back dining chairs raised on square section front legs, length of table 182cm (7). CONDITION REPORT: Chair joints are rigid but a bit "creaky". Some flecks of veneer missing and some old signs of filled splits. Small areas of dryness/wear to veneer on table. A few scuffs to the base.
A group of hallmarked silver items including a Victorian silver handled and ivory bladed page turned embossed with foliate and floral motifs, London 1900, a matched three piece set comprising shoe horn, button hook and a clear cut glass dressing table jar with cherubic motifs, various marks, a fiddle pattern fork, London 1815 and a white metal toddy ladle with baleen stem (6). CONDITION REPORT: Page turner has a very loose handle and a few chips to the blade and also there are some major splits to the baleen stem of the toddy ladle.
A George V hallmarked silver mounted and purple guilloche enamel seven piece dressing table set, comprising hand mirror, length 25cm, hand brush, pair of coat brushes, comb (af), button hook and a shoe horn, Charles and Richard Comyns, London 1924, contained in leather suitcase with fitted interior (af), and with canvas cover, initialled UFM, 39 x 37 x 20cm, also a group of gloves including leather examples. CONDITION REPORT: Comb holder has major areas of loss to the enamel and with associated comb, also some losses to the enamel on the button hook which also has a detached handle, one of the coat brushes has losses to the enamel next to the edge. Mirror loose in frame. Some scratches throughout. The rest of the pieces appear to be in good condition. The fittings beneath the cover are intact but the silk compartments to the main part of the inside are distressed and the canvas cover with leather corners has traces of use commensurate with use, particularly rubbing to the corners and ripping around the handle aperture.
