The case inset with foliate cut brass panels, with ormolu caryatid mounts to the canted corners. The arched glazed door, enclosing gilt metal dial decorated in relief with a medallion of King Louis XIV. The dial inset with enamelled roman numeral panels. The outer of the dial marked with the minutes. The base with ormolu. scroll leaf mounts, central female mask to the apron, the whole on four lion paw feet. With 18th century 8 day, counterwheel verge escapement, 1/4 striking on a bell. 80 x 40cm.
