A Clarice Cliff “Bizarre” plate with floral spray decoration, designed by Vanessa Bell for the 1934 Harrods and Art in Industry "Modern Art for the Table” exhibitions 25.5 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Very dirty - in need of a clean. There is a small chip to the underside rim
A pine and painted refectory style dining table, the plank top on end pillar supports with chamfered decoration and united by a centre stretcher 329 cm x 96.5 cm x 77 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Whilst the piece appears to have age, looking at the construction / wear and tear, it is likely that it is a 20th Century copy of a more Arts & Crafts period piece but has visually all the signs of being older. There is remnants of staining to the top (purposeful), which has worn in several areas giving a very rustic look which could be addressed if necessary or wished for. The painted base, whilst basically sound, has wear to the extremities of the paintwork, particularly to the feet and there are no pegs. The top appears to have a slight smile which could be rectified by screwing down. The screws are also mostly missing. This said, it appears to be a good-looking table. There is a split to the top where the planks have slightly come apart though again this no doubt could be rectified as it is shrinkage rather than damage. See images for further detail.
