A late 19th century Gillows walnut centre table, with rounded corners and recessed frieze, raised on turned and fluted supports and with centre low stretcher. Width 145 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table top is flat with no cracks. The polish is a little flat and there are some surface scratches as one would expect but no significant issues to the top. The frieze is in good condition all round. The four supporting columns are in good condition. The centre stretcher is showing signs of feet marks and surface scratches but has no significant issues. The legs are all in good condition. The table should be raised on castors, these are missing. The table top clearly matches the base however there are two brass clip brackets on one side of the table which we cannot fathom out.
A Georgian oak lowboy, with single drawer and later brass drop handle and with silhouette supports. Width 75 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally fairly sound. The top has numerous marks and stress fractures to the timbers and there is a gap between the two planks. The top is slightly undulating but not significantly enough for this to be problematic. There are no breaks to legs. There are nibbles around the edges of the drawer front. The handle is non original. The drawer slides reasonably well. The left hand drawer support is loose where it joins the back leg. There is some evidence of very old long gone woodworm to the rear board of the piece. The drawer at some point has had a lock. This is no longer present. The primitive rectangular metal panel above the lock would be the keeper retainer, this is clearly old but later.
A Monart attributed green glass table lamp, early 20th century, having a mottled green/turquoise and black ground with brass oil lamp reservoir, now converted to electricity, with original textured and stitched shade, height excluding fittings 30.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The shade is a form of plastic. It has a marbled look which has obviously faded throughout time. There are two large cracks in the shade approximately 12 cm and 16 cm in length. One of the metal support struts is loose from the rim but is still attached to the centre circle. There are tiny nibbles and chips on the interior rim of the glass vase. There are surface patches of what appears to be black spray located throughout the exterior of the body which we assume is part of the decoration but has faded in parts. The gilding on the foot rim is slightly faded. The glass body appears to be free from any cracks or restoration. The diameter at the top of the vase is 13 cm.
A Gordon Russell teak coffee table, rectangular and bearing Gordon Russell Ltd., Broadway, label beneath. 12 cm x 50.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is 122 cm wide, 50.5 cm deep and 41 cm high. There is a small triangular gouge in the top measuring approximately 1.5 cm x 2 cm. The top is an almost uniform colour but there are numerous ring marks from cups. There is a water stained patch on the bottom right hand corner. All the legs have scuff marks that would require attention. The table is structurally sound.
A pair of Regency style grey marble and gilt metal mounted table lamps, 20th century, the vase shaped body with gilt metal mounts and serpent handles on a plain column with gilt metal mounts in turn above the square base supported upon lion paw and foliate feet, overall height 42 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The grey marble on both lamps appears to be in good order and appears to be free from any chips, cracks or restorations. The gilt metal mounts on both are pitted throughout and require some attention. Each base has a cast number to the underside F6048.
A Persian silk rug, hand woven with a tree of life design on an ivory ground within a conforming main border stripe with two guard stripes. 232 cm x 148 cm excluding fringes (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: From a distance the carpet looks to be in good clean order throughout but on close inspection the lower quarter is littered with numerous small stains. There are some circular depressions similar to that which a table would make which leads us to believe that this is mostly likely spent its life partially beneath a coffee table and the staining along the bottom and top quarter are most likely spillages. I cannot see any tears or repairs. There is the odd loose thread within the red border. A good professional clean may remedy this carpet from its issues.
A 19th century mahogany Gillows style side table, fitted with a single drawer with brass knob handles and raised on tapered reeded legs terminating in brass castors. Width 79 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is in structurally good order. The top is flat and not warped. The polish finish is of French polish type and there are small scratches to the top surface but no significant blemishes. The frieze drawer is in good condition and runs smoothly. The sides and back of the table are all in good order. The legs do not appear to have any breaks. There are some nibbles to the turnings. The castors are original. The handles if not original go through the original handle holes.
A mahogany top pub table, 19th century, with cast iron base with three legs, decorated with Britannia bordered by roses and thistles, united by a lower tier and all on lion paw feet. Diameter 65 cm., height 76 cm. NOTE - This table was originally in the George IV Public House, Solway Street, Workington.
A Victorian rosewood centre table, oval, with egg and dart carved edge, recessed fitted frieze and raised on carved and fluted legs terminating in ball feet. Width 180 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table top is in extremely good condition. It is a good colour with no significant marks or scratches. The egg and dart moulded edge is in good order all round. The frieze is in good condition all round. The legs have some minor scuffs and nibbles to the carvings but no significant issues. The table is structurally extremely sound.
