A CHINESE HARDWOOD TABLE CLOCK LATE QING DYNASTY The white enamel dial with Roman numerals, surrounded by a gilt metal frame decorated with shou characters, bats and scrolling foliate designs, contained within a rectangular case, with fret-carved side panels incised with further shou characters and two rectangular windows. A carved backplate and sliding panels to the front and reverse, accompanied with a winding key, 50.4cm including stand. (4) Provenance: property from a deceased estate, Cheshire. Cf.
