A 19thC interchangeable orchestral cylinder musical box in burr walnut case with banding to the lid and sides, mounted on a matching table with two drawers for the extra cylinders. 56 airs on seven cylinders listed on the original tune sheet, twin spring barrel with tune indicator, two combs, 18 note centre reed organ, seven bells, seven beater drum and six beater castanet. The drum, bells and castanet mechanisms can be switched off via the levers behind the comb. Stop / play and repeat controls to the side of the mechanism. Brass bed plate with nickel plated features, reeds and bellows mounted below the bedplate and driven via a crank next to the governor, three decorative bird finials to the bells. Believed to be manufactured by Samuel Troll of Geneva but the mechanism is unmarked. Cylinders 33cm long x 6.5cm diameter. Music box 92cm long x 39cm wide x 34cm tall. Table 100cm long x 53cm wide x 61cm tall
