A musical dressing table / sewing set in the form of a grand piano, c1850. The lid decorated with a scene from a French music room, applied decoration to all sides. The piano is mounted on turned wooden legs and has a fitted interior with silk lining and mirror to lid. When the internal tray is removed the musical movement is visible with sectioned comb in groups of seven teeth with hand-painted cover. By repute, this item belonged to the Coates family of Paisley
