A Regency mahogany D-end dining table, the plain top with two extra leaves and reeded edge raised on slender turned and ringed tapering legs to peg feet CONDITION REPORTS Height of table approx. 71 cm. Leg clearance approx. 59 cm. Overall with various wear, scuffs, knocks and chips, replacement corner section to one of the leaves, some chips and wear to edges of leaves, some colour variations, top may have been re-finished at some point, some very slight warping, but overall appears in good usable condition, some fading to the D-ends.
A quantity of Oriental porcelain table and tea wares to include turquoise ground tea wares, bowls, etc, two famille-rose decorated tea bowls, bearing character marks, shallow dishes, Chinese porcelain dishes decorated with birds and bearing character marks, Chinese porcelain lidded bowl decorated with bird in blossoming branches and bearing character marks and a collection of three graduated Yixing terracotta teapots and covers, each bearing impressed marks to base CONDITION REPORTS The largest teapot with lid broken in half and with large areas of loss to the lid. Inner rim of teapot appears to have been ground down and teapot body cracked and also appears to have had some overpainting. The two smaller teapots with general wear and scuff but appear OK. Remaining wears have some light wear through from general use although a few pieces do have some large chips and cracks etc.

R.N.), good very fine D/SSX.815328 Able Seaman Eric Noble Saunders, born Liverpool, 23.2.1928; enlisted in the Royal Navy as Ordinary Seaman, serving in H.M.S. Raleigh, 21.8.1946; promoted Able Seaman, 11.1.1848; transferred to H.M.S. Amethyst, 8.7.1948, and served in her during the "Yangtze Incident", 20.4- 31.7.1949, as part of the damage-control party, responsible for filling in various shell holes along Amethyst's waterline; present throughout the famous dash down the Yangtze River on the night of the 30th-31st July ("Have rejoined the Fleet, no damage or casualties, God Save the King"); later took part in the celebrations when the ship returned home, and sat on Table 2 at the Celebratory Dinner at the Dorchester Hotel, 16.11.1949; discharged, 14.12.1953.Subject to 20% VAT on Buyer’s Premium.
