L.S., Duperré, one page, 4to, Paris, 28th August 1842, to Mr. Chevreux, on the printed stationery of the Ministry of Marine and Colonies, in French. Duperre informs his correspondent, in full, 'Your leave having expired, I invite you to go as soon as possible to Bordeaux where it shall be provided for your boarding, as a passenger at the captain's table, on one of the first trade ships which will be dispatched from the port for French Guyana. You will receive in Bordeaux your salary on the feet of Europe, at the rate of 3000 frs. per year, from the 1st of the present month, day on which you stopped being paid until the day of your boarding. You will also receive, two months in advance of this salary and the ship's bed allowance.'With blank integral leaf.
