A late 19th Century Japanese black chinoiserie lacquered table cabinet on stand, the centre section with a pair of doors and an arrangement of eleven small drawers enclosed by a pair of raised panelled doors decorated with exotic birds on a cushion base, height 64cm x depth 27cm x width 54cm, and a similar smaller table cabinet, 26cm x 24cm, S/D (2)
A pair of Chinese torquoise glazed dogs, Qing 19th century, modelled baying with open mouth showing teeth and an aubergine tongue, the claws painted aubergine, each upon a table with cloth decorated with flowers and butterflies, 13.5cmOne dog has three incisor fangs missing, the other dog has a single incisor fang missing. Otherwise in good condition with no further obvious faults.
A George III-style mahogany breakfront side table with ribbon and flower carved edge above a frieze of Vitruvian scrolls, supported on cabriole legs carved with hanging harebells floral boss and scrolling leaves terminating in well-carved claw and ball feet. 125 cm overall width x 59 cm deep x 85 cm overall height
A William IV rosewood crossbanded birdseye maple two flap work table. With two short drawers, on turned supports terminating in brass cup castors. 56 cm wide x 33 cm deep x 72 cm overall height. The table is generally in good antique order with the usual minor knocks and marks expected. The tops of the legs have some stringing that is loose and has a very tiny area of damage, and the crossbanding a small section of lifting veneer.
A Victorian papier mache trumpet work table with mother of pearl inlaid detail and sprays of colourful flowers. The top opening reveal a fitted interior the whole over a tripod base. 46 cm diameter x 77 cm overall height, together with a Victorian tray-topped folding table.Old repairs throughout.
A William & Mary walnut kneehole lowboy, the quarter veneered cross banded top with herringbone banded detail and cross grain moulded edge; above one central and two deep flanking drawers fitted teardrop handles. On blarley twist, spindle supports over a shaped stretcher supported by turned bun feet. 70 cm overall width x 52 cm overall depth x 73 cm overall height, 55 cm to the kneehole.The top has an old split that has been backfilled and some of the veneers of the top seem to be relatively flat and could have been replaced or re-laid.The legs and feet are possible replacements as they are still quite cylindrical in section.The table has had restoration over the years to keep it in good decorative order.The handles if not original are in keeping
A William IV rosewood square topped pedestal table, the top inset with a green marble panel with a gadrooned edge. On a segmented column and Trafalgar base with scroll feet. 43 cm wide x 43 cm deep x 75 cm high. The visible size of the marble is 34.6 cm x 35.4 cm.Private estateThe marble shows a crack that seems to have been in place from the date of manufacture as the line follows a natural line of striations in the figuring of the marble, I have turned the table upside down and the line is visible from the underside but it has been backfilled with some mineral composition. The crack looks quite old and established.The wooden elements are in good antique order and the table is structurally sound.See the further images for clarification
A large 19th century late "Grand -Tour" carved wood rectangular cassetino/ table casket the hinged cover with a recumbent lion surmount after Antonio Canova; sliding to reveal a concealed compartment. The lower section with inset specimen marble panels above a bold gadrooned lower portion lifted on well-carved lion's paw supports. 51 cm wide x 37 cm deep x 43 cm high.Private estateThe top has some screws missing from one hinge and the top is currently fixed only by one hinge.The mouldings and feet show signs of large boring beetle holes, see the images.The varying marble panels look intact and appear to be original, two dividers between the panels have splits /cracksOne of the mouldings at the edge of the top shows a crack.The lock looks to be original but has no keyThe ground timber of the top has a shrinkage split.Please see the images for clarification.
