Lot 1199

A rare Ford Cosworth DFV Formula 1 block, from about 1973, stamped DFV 101 The perfect addition for a man-cave, garage or study for conversion into a low table**Update** The owner has heard back from a Costworth historian what the bock was sold to Lotuns in 1972, who of course won the F1 World Championship that year**The owner acquired it about 40 years ago from John Foulston of Atlantic computers – a friend – when they were clearing out his store in London at Atlantic computers, it was cracked then His understanding was that it had come from Lotus, the man who sold it to JGF had a lot of ex Lotus stuff I am currently investigating its number DFV 101 which is stamped on the block The fact that it has a stamp makes it fairly early as latterly they used detachable number strips to solve the problem with carnets for foreign travel
