Game.- Bowles & Carver, publishers. Bowles's Royal and Entertaining Game of the Goose, hand-coloured engraved sheet forming anti-clockwise spiral of 63 spaces around a central panel of rules and vignettes at corners and in some spaces including portraits of George III and Queen Charlotte, mounted on linen, c.550 x 440mm., contemporary ink inscription to "The Miss Bakers. Given them by their Affecte. Governess Louisa de ?Challet" at head of sheet, a little soiled and creased, folded in four, [cf.Whitehouse p.55], Bowles & Carver, [water-marked ?1818].⁂ A later version of one of the earliest table games, mentioned in Oliver Goldsmith's Deserted Village of 1770.

Americas.- [?Wein (Paul)] A Concise Historical Account of all the British Colonies in North-America, first Dublin edition, folding engraved map of "100 Miles round Boston", folding table of details of the colonies (short tear at inner edge), one or two small stains, bookplate partly erased, attractive contemporary mottled calf, red roan label (chipped), rubbed, small patch repaired on lower board, [Sabin 15116], 12mo, Dublin, for Caleb Jenkin...and John Beatty, 1776.⁂ First published in London the previous year ESTC records only one UK copy of this Dublin edition (University of Ulster at Magee College Library, Londonderry).
Royal Family Tree.- Nutting (Joseph) A Genealogical And Chronological Table Of The Royal Line of England..., the Royal Line from William the Conqueror to Queen Anne from the 'Settlement Of The Succession in the House of Hanover By Act of Parliament', with 32 portraits by H. Husbergh presented in two columns of 16 at each side of the table, engraving, on 8 sheets joined, total 2050 x 1215 mm., mounted on linen support, some sections with pen and ink numbering, faint folds and light creasing visible, minor browning to some edges, unframed, printed for S. Gellibrand, sold by Daniel Mortier, 1706.
America.- Josselyn (John) New-Englands rarities discovered: in birds, beasts, fishes, serpents, and plants of that country. Together with the physical and chyrurgical remedies wherewith the natives constantly use to cure their distempers, wounds, and sores. Also a perfect description of an Indian squa, in all her bravery; with a poem not improperly conferr'd upon her. Lastly a chronological table of the most remarkable passages in that country amongst the English, first edition, initial blank, woodcut plate of 'Hollow Leav 'd Lavender', woodcuts within text, some full-page, lacking H2-6 at end (supplied in facsimile), worm trace at head to all to p.21, affecting headlines, some staining and spotting, modern calf, panel of contemporary sheep laid down on upper cover, [Church 618; Howes J-255; Hunt 322; Sabin 36674; Vail Frontier 160; Wing J1093], 8vo, printed for G. Widdowes, at the Green-Dragon in St. Paul's Church-yard, 1672.⁂ First edition of 'the earliest work on the natural history and Indian remedies of New England' (Vail). Includes 'Description of an Indian Squa' with an accompanying poem, which praises black beauty above white. Provenance: 17th and 18th century ownership inscriptions of the Millward family and William Maning.
South East Asia.- Crawfurd (John) Journal of an Embassy from the Governor-General of India to the Courts of Siam and Cochin China; exhibiting a view of the Actual State of Those Kingdoms, first edition, folding aquatint frontispiece, large folding engraved map (neatly backed with repairs to margins and at folds), 9 aquatint plates, 2 engraved plans and 2 engraved plates of alphabets, folding table of vocabularies at end, occasional spotting, contemporary boards, neatly and sympathetically rebacked in buckram, printed paper label to spine, [Abbey, Travel 405], 4to, 1828.⁂ Scarce account of a diplomatic voyage through Thailand, Vietnam, and the Malay Peninsula. The plans are of Singapore and Bangkok.

A 'Winchester College' oak refectory table of traditional form, with five plank top, on square legs and stretchers, probably late 16th - early 17th century, 46in x 35in, 28.5in high.The table has been subject to the ministrations of countless generations of small boys, many of whom have left their initials, some even their full names and the date of their loving abuse - for all still to see. Much of the earlier evidence of grafitti is now indistinct through centuries of wear and use, however later legible names include, Clarke, Croft, Lawrence and Warren, and in particular, one C. Graham, whose enthusiasm to be remembered for posterity apparently knew no bounds, for both in 1829 and 1830, he left his contributions in full
