The Worshipful Company of Salters interest: A late Victorian silver replica of a renaissance table salt(?), and a spoon. To commemorate 'The Salters Company 500th Anniversary, 1394. April, 13th.1894', the shaped-oval salt with an elaborate shell, scroll and bead rim, two figural handles, and applied with the arms of the salters company and a cartouche inscribed as above, on a vase-shaped support and decorated oval foot, mark of John Bodman Carrington, London 1893, the salt 15.5cm high overall, 14cm wide (6 1/8th inches x 5 1/2 inches), 350g (a little over 11 1/4ozs), the shell bowl spoon with a terminal in the form of the company's arms (lacking the central 'arm and covered salt' crest), conforming hallmarks, 19g; in a fitted case by 'Carrington & Co... 130 Regent Street' Condition Report: Overall good condition for age, general wear and tear commensurate with age and use. The interior shows gilding and also some general 'grubbyness'. No major dents, dings or damage and sits flat on a flat surface. The spoon is lacking a finial as shown in the picture. Both would benefit from a thorough clean.

The oval hand mirror, oval hair brush and oblong clothes brush each embossed with angels after Reynolds, mark of James Deakin & Sons, Chester 1900-1902; a small silver trophy goblet, inscribed with a presentation inscription dated 1924, Birmingham 1923, 29g; and a chrome plated and green guilloche enamelled three piece dressing table set.
International Historical Interest : An early-mid 19th century Chinese sewing table/work box with gilded lacquer decoration. The hinged top opening to reveal a scene of figures practising martial arts and a fully fitted interior of small lidded compartments above a pull-out sewing well upholstered in yellow silk. Raised on shaped supports united by a bottom stretcher, on four toed paw feet. Containing a hand written note marked 'This lacquer work table (Chinese) was brought from Canton China by Commander Arthur W. A. Hood B.N., (ultimately Admiral Lord Hood of Avalon) HMS Acorn ..... of HMS Acorn which lay off Canton for a month before entrance to the city could be effected by the crew. When Governor Yeh was taken with some of them in his Palace and carried in his own Sedan chair by them to the English boats and ships, 1856', H72cm x W64cm x D45cmContext:Governor Ye Mingchen (1807-1859) was a high ranking Chinese official during the Qing dynasty, known for its resistance from the British influence of Canton, in the aftermath of the first opium war. This action (proved by the acquisition & note) is understood to be the reason why commander Arthur WA Hood was made a Lord and Admiral !Ivory reference number 17T4NTAF Condition Report: photographs will show far more of the condition. it is basically fundamentally very sound, it does not rock ( nervous) and is undoubtedly the best one I have ever seen, with a superb provenance.
A late Victorian silver table bell. With a quatrefoil chased knop (twist to sound), the sides pierced and embossed with alternate spiral flutes and leaf scrolls and with a hit-and-miss gadrooned rim on three paw feet, the maker's mark rubbed, Sheffield 1898, 8.5cm high, 9.5cm diameter overall (3 3/8th x 3 3/4 inches) Condition Report: Overall good condition for age commensurate with age and much use. THe marks good apart from the lozenge-shaped maker's mark which is rubbed and indecipherable. Some shallow dents to the plain spiral scrolls, sits well and doesn't 'wobble' on a flat surface. mechanism working.
A vintage amethyst single stone ring. The oval mixed-cut stone claw set between split knife shoulders on a square-section shank stamped '9ct', size P. 6.7g gross Condition Report: The Amethyst measures approx. 19.3mm x 15.5mm x 9.1mm, with several small chips to the crown facet edges and points. also some general rubbing to the facet edges and minor scratches over the surface of the table, skills, kite and upper girdle facets, though most are not visible without 10X magnification.

An early 20th century gold, sapphire and diamond ring. The three graduated oval mixed-cut sapphires spaced by pairs of old-cut diamonds, stamped '18ct & Pt', sizing beads prevents a size, 2.3g gross Condition Report: Overall good condition for age, general wear and tear commensurate with age and use, some wear to sapphire facet edges as expected. One outer sapphire is a French-cut, the other is a more standard mixed-cut, and may be a later replacement stone, it is a good colour match. All stones show some evidence of natural origin with colour banding, however we have not obtained independent labartory certification on these stones so please bid accordingly as we will not accept returns on the basis should any stones turn out to be treated etc. The central oval-cushion shaped sapphire measurea approx. 5.7mm x 5.3mm x 3.9mm. The four old-cut diamonds each measure approx. 2.9mm-3.0mm diameter. so approx. 0.10-0.12-ish carats each, two of which have substantial (table to girdle) gletz and one other stone has a large pique under the table, due to the tiny table size this is not really noticable to the naked eye but obvious under 10X magnification. The diamonds none the less are still quite 'white and bright'
A nest of four (Quartetto) mahogany mid-20th century Victorian style occasional tables. Each of rectangular form, with beaded borders, on column-shaped legs, the largest L53cm x D37cm x H69.5cm Condition Report: Structurally in good condition. No apparent breakages or alterations to the supports or stretchers. Some small knocks to the edges. Would benefit from a clean. Largest table has a watermark to the top. Light scratches and wear consistnet with age and usage.

A late 19th to early 20th century Chinese hardwood occasional table: recessed top bordered by faux bamboo carving above pierced friezes carved with prunus blossom; raised on four faux bamboo uprights united by three similar stretchers (LWH 51 x 36.5 x 74 cm)* Condition: Good original surface and colour overall. The top does have a pale ring mark and a patch of lighter worn polish towards one end. This was once part of a nest of tables, so there are no corner brackets beneath the frieze to one side and no stretcher beneath. There is a little separation between the joints of the side stretchers and supports. No damage, losses or repairs to the carved frieze.
Two pieces: 1. A nest of three shabby-chic painted wood occasional tables: marbleised tops, turned tapering fluted legs (the largest LWH 52.5 x 39 x 54.5 cm). 2. A square occasional table: variegated green marble top, black painted double-U stand, brass ball feet (31.5 x 31.5 x 39.5 cm).
