He served as counsel for the restoration and renovation of Basildon Park, Reading, after the couple purchased the estate in 1953. As a fellow of the Royal Institute of British Architects, Aldridge was one of the leading authorities on 18th century architecture of the time, but was also a prolific watercolour artist and furniture designer.Condition report: With some filled cracks to the base.
