Together with a set of six vintage dining chairs designed by Harry Østergaard, curved back chairs, solid teak wood frame, bent plywood back rest, upholstered in black leatherette, H80cm, seat height 45cm, width 46cm, depth 44cm, mid century (1960s) Condition: In very good vintage condition, only some minor signs of use consistent with age on frames.(10)

Gio Ponti (1891 - 1979) Teak polymorphic game table from the 50's, designed by the famous Gio Ponti for Fratelli Reguitti. Reversible square table top with bowed sides, the dual faceted top covered with green felt on one side and the other side in lacquered wood, allowing it to be used as a dining table as well. With a storage space underneath the top, four retracting glass holders in gilded brass below the corners, on round tapered legs, measuring 90x90cm, H75cm. Some normal wear and tear.

There are some scratches and a few small dents to the surface of the table and along the legs. There is crazing to the surface of the table. Along the underside there is wear, possible from chairs rubbing against the wood. The table expends well and the leaves fit well. No signs of restoration. Wear to the table covers.
Barton S. Hays (American, 1826-1914). Group of two oil on board still life paintings. One depicting red roses against a deep green background. Carlo Nason (Italian, b. 1935) for Mazzega, Italy. Mid-century Modern Model LT 305 "Lotus" table lamp consisting of four interlocking hand-blown Murano glass pieces that nest within each other to give the lamp its titular form, ca. 1960s.Height: 19 in x diameter: 18 1/2 in.Condition: The lamp is in good condition with no chips, cracks, or losses. The lamp functions but has not been tested for prolonged use. Some wear to the metal base consistent with age and use. Dust and dirt collected along the surface of the four glass components. Some wear to the wiring.
Edward Fields, United States. Large Mid-Century Modern 100% wool pile rug depicting blue, white, green, and red flowers on a yellow field in a Pop Art style. Marked along the border along the underside and dated 1972. With a Woolmark quality certification tag affixed along the underside.Length: 12 ft x width: 9 ft.Condition: The rug is in good condition overall. There are small stains throughout, most noticeable along the white areas. There is a light accumulation of dirt and dust throughout. Along the upper left corner there are four impressions consistent with a small table being displayed on the rug. Along the backing there is soiling and wear along with a slight discoloration to the glue that is consistent with age and use. There is a long piece of clear masking tape along one edge of the backing that does not seem to affect the overall work or reflect any issues.

Sculptural carved skirts and V-shaped stretcher bars. A lovely match to the dining table offered in this sale.Each, Height: 32 in x width: 22 in x depth: 18 in.Condition: The chairs are structurally sound and stable. All components are firmly attached. There is some wear to the black leather seats including some scratches, cracking, and other signs of general use. There is signs of glue and light restorations to some of the joints to some of the chairs. There are some scuffs and scratches to the legs as expected from age and use.

GORDON CHARLES GEORGE: (1833-1885) British Army officer and administrator, known as Chinese Gordon. Manuscript notes, unsigned, one page, 8vo, n.p. (Labore, Sudan), n.d. (4th July 1876). The page of notes are a summary of a letter written to Romolo Gessi and state, in part, '1. Engineer Dept & you to be paid monthly. 2. Egyptian Employer's after the order from Cairo. 3. Your nomination as Vakul (?) with all the attributes of Ali…..only see all money letters are signed by me after you'. The notes continue to refer to the purchase of horses, the hiring of a stable, the cost of food, tin water cans etc. and also include a table chart drawn by Gordon with several columns, one headed Already sent up and another To be sent. With a large area of paper loss to the lower left quarter, affecting a number of the sentences, and with some ink blotting, light creasing and age wear. Only FR Romolo Gessi (1831-1881) Gessi Pasha. Italian soldier, governor in the Turkish-Egyptian administration and explorer of north-east Africa. In 1876, while serving under Gordon in the Turkish Sudan, Gessi explored the course of the White Nile in the area of Bahr El Jebel and mapped its descent from Lake Albert. Gordon regarded Gessi, perhaps unfairly, as merely a brilliant mercenary.
JACOB MAX: (1876-1944) French Poet and Painter. A good A.L.S., Max Jacob, two pages, 4to, Saint-Benoit-sur-Loire, 28th October 1925, to an unidentified friend, in French. Jacob refers to the fifteen pages he is sending to his correspondent, stating in part `They are part of a volume still unfinished and which will belong (in future) to the N.R.F. but in the meantime they belong only to me…´ Further saying `I still live immersed in this solitude of the Loire. Solitude which is not relative, not because of the trips to Paris which are quite rare, but because of visitors… But can I commit myself to send you prose, me whose time is taken by the painting and by the eternal novel in course which is like the rifle for the soldier, the bed for the sick patient, the table for the gluttonous..´ Jacob also refers on two occasions to one of his paintings Tableau de la Bourgeoisie, saying to a post-scriptum written to the left border `It rains a lot. Autumn gives continuity to a sad Summer. I am finishing Le Tableau de la Bourgeoisie. I will be publishing a book of verses this winter with Kra, and have started a book without topic.´ Very small overall minor age wear, otherwise G to VG
ROBERTS RACHEL: (1927-1980) Welsh actress, an Academy Award nominee. A scarce vintage signed and inscribed 7.5 x 9 photograph of Roberts in costume as Margaret Hammond, seated in a half-length pose at a restaurant table and with a menu in her hands, from the British kitchen sink drama film This Sporting Life (1963). Signed in blue fountain pen ink to the lower white border. It was for her performance in this role that Roberts was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar. One small tear to the lower white border, not affecting the signature, otherwise VG
