Pair of Japanese Meiji period Satsuma Yasuda pottery vases of waisted gourd form profusely and finely decorated in polychrome enamel and gilt, with two panels of figures on a terrace and in a landscape with flowers and lake on a floral and foliate lattice ground with medallions of phoenix, both with gilt painted Shimazu crest, four character seal mark and Yasuda trademark, each 24.5cm high. (One drilled for use as a table lamp with repair to rim).Condition report:One with slightly discoloured fine crazing to rim, slight crazing to panels and base. Second vase has damage/ repair to rim with glued in threaded plastic ring. Drilled hole. Has been used as a lamp. Both have held water at some point.
