1814 Regency Period admission ticket to a subscription Dinner on July 12 on Parker's Piece, Cambridge to mark the (seemingly apparent) happy return of Peace after the years of Napoleonic Wars. The ticket holder?s name is faded; the place was on Table 9 as Vice President. Event was oversubscribed with 6,000 attending and some 15,000 spectators. Footnote: The event was held after Napoleon's first abdication earlier that year and banishment to Elba. However, he quickly returned to power only to be defeated at the Battle of Waterloo on 18 June 1815; the true end to the Napoleonic Wars. Some 207 years later Parker's Piece still being used for celebratory events - The Foodies Festival was held there in July with Master Chef & Bake-Off champions attending.
