A large Victorian oak wind out dining table with three leaves, with moulded edge and rounded corners and raised on turned tapered fluted legs terminating in castors. Height 74.7 cm, width 127 cm, length closed 156 cm. Each leaf adding a further 51 cm.

Lot 1467

A Victorian mahogany writing table, the top with lifting back edge to enclose a now missing pen tidy, fitted single drawer under on turned legs. 78 cm high, 66 wide, 39 cm deep. CONDITION REPORT: The top has several old ring and ink marks. There are however no splits or losses. The drawer runs smoothly. There are veneer losses to the drawer front which should be visible on our images. All legs are in good order and the piece is structurally sound with no evidence of woodworm.

Lot 1496

An early 20th century Indian octagonal occasional table, inlaid throughout in ivory with central star motif and accompanying tree, foliage and vase ornament, with folding base. 62 cm high, 61 cm wide. CONDITION REPORT: The top is flat and not warped. It is in generally good order with only minor losses to the ebony stringing and bone work. These are too numerous to list and only really visible on close inspection. There are no significant splits to the top only minor stress fractures. The folding base is in generally good order with only minor losses to the bone and some stress fractures to the arcaded sections. There is no evidence of any woodworm.

Lot 1561

A 19th century mahogany wine table, with dished top, turned and fluted column triform base and short lobed feet. Height 68 cm, diameter 48 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This table has a broken repaired section to the rim which is approximately 10 cm long comprising about 5 pieces. It would appear the table perhaps has been knocked over and smashed resulting in this damage which now has been pieced back and glued together. There is also a split across the top and the top is rather loose. The base of the table appears to be in a good order.

Lot 20

A 19th century Cantonese carved ivory rectangular panel. 9 cm x 24 cm, together with two late Victorian ivory dressing table boxes. CONDITION REPORT: The rectangular panel has significant chipping along the bottom edge which runs into the floral lozenge border. In addition to the reverse there is a shrinkage split and areas of staining. The Victorian ivory box is slightly loose to the joints but otherwise appears in fair condition. The Chinese cylindrical box has two vertical shrinkage splits. The combined weight of the three ivory items is 450 grams.

Height 80 cm, width 98 cm, depth 48 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This table has some loss to the mother of pearl inlay to the top together with smaller losses to the frieze and one of the legs. The table is loose to the joints of the back legs in particular and one of the back legs does appear to have been broken and repaired.

A pair of Chinese porcelain vases, in the Canton style converted to table lamps and each with wooden base. Height 86 cm. CONDITION REPORT: This pair of modern lamp bases both have wear to the decoration and gilding in places especially to the necks of the relief moulded figures. Both have been drilled and fitted to the wooden bases but both of them do appear to be physically in good condition free of chips or cracks. The shades supplied are slightly dirty but otherwise in good condition. Height to top of vase including wooden stand 41 cm. Height to top of shade including stand 73.5 cm.

A Victorian brass table oil lamp, with brown striped yellow glass reservoir, knopped stem on black ceramic base, with etched spherical glass shade for same. 58 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The glass reservoir and chimney for this lot are both in good order with no obvious chips or cracks. The etched spherical shade has minor chipping to both the top and base.

A Victorian brass table oil lamp, of aesthetic design with bulbous reservoir on scrolled rail support and inswept platform base, with yellow glass shade for same. 51 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The pale yellow glass shade in this lot has a chip to the base which is approximately two thumbnails in width. The chimney is in good condition.

Lot 955

A Victorian brass table oil lamp, the reservoir with classical scene of urns and swags, on plain cylindrical stem and circular base (reservoir and stem possibly associated), with etched cranberry glass shade for same. 58 cm high, and one other brass table oil lamp (lacking shade).

Lot 965

A Victorian brass table oil lamp, with moulded white glass reservoir, fluted column and cast iron base, with repaired etched glass shade and chimney for same. 65 cm high. CONDITION REPORT: The etched glass shade has been broken and repaired. The burner mechanism operates as it should. So does the extinguisher. The milk glass reservoir appears to be in good order with no cracks or chips. The chimney has minor foot rim nibbles, the brasswork is in structurally good order but somewhat tarnished. The base is in good condition.
