A Victorian walnut and inlaid centre table, circa 1880, with a moulded and marquetry tilt top set on four ring turned supports, the pedestal with four scroll legs and castors, 71cm high, 128cm long, 100cm wideCondition reportThe table is in excellent overall condition, with a flat top and good coloured veneers
A pair of Chinese Canton Cache Pots or Planters with stands, late Qing dynasty, probably mid to late 19th century, each decorated in colours with figures, of octagonal tapered form with conforming stands, 16cm high (on stand) (4)Condition reportBoth the main pots are quite thickly potted, the rim flares to give a solid edge which was gilded. The gilding on this rim and on the matching base has worn from handling as would be expected. The enamels are generally in good condition on all four pieces, however some areas have been lost, most notable where enamel has come away on a ladies dress, this is located where the pot slots into the base and is likely worn from movement at the junction. (See image) Sadly one of the two large pots has been cracked (visible in additional images. This crack extends from top to base edge on both sides, however it appears the piece was not broken apart as I could find no crack across the base. Both pots are very dirty, having been for many years contained plants at a large Country House near Biggar, Scotland. With a good clean they will look very attractive on any mantel or table. The crack is well concealed by the polychrome enamel decoration. I could find no reign marks or other identifications on any of the four pieces.
