After Thomire & Cie, a silvered and gilt bronze table centrepiece, circa 1900, the circular bowl with two exotic birds to the rim over an ornate foliate cast central column, with three putti riding mythological dolphins, on a stepped triform base stamped 'Thomire A Paris', (formerly a candelabra), 64cm high.
A large Victorian pollard oak extending dining table, the circular radially veneered top with six additional circumference leaves, on an associated octagonal column with splayed base, 196cm diameter x 286cm diameter extended. Illustrated Note: probably the best known type of extending patent circular dining table is the 'Capstan', invented and patented by Robert Jupe in 1835. Jupe had gone on to make and sell these tables with John Johnstone who subsequently went on to establish the firm of Johnstone Jeanes & Co at 67 Bond Street, London.
