American Interest - 19th Century Charles G. Bush & Co, Providence Rhode Island kaleidoscope, with black textured paper-covered barrel, and ships wheel-style adjuster, black and gold label, 28.5cm long, on an ebonised turned wooden stand, 29.5cm high Condition: Rotating end cap/adjuster has two missing 'arms', two further appear to be replacements, loss to paper banding where one arm is missing. Wear to red paper decoration and some rubbing to barrel commensurate with age and handling. Ebonised base is associated and the socket to accomadate the base of the telescope is larger than the fitting resulting in the barrel being loose. Some crazing or craquelure to wooden base (which is probably from a table globe or mirror) sold as seen **General condition consistent with age

Edwardian oak-cased triple-fusee bracket or table clock, retailed by Benetfink & Co, London, having an arched 7.5-inch brass dial, the silvered chapter ring with Roman hours and Arabic minutes framing a matted centre, beneath silvered subsidiary Chime/Silent and Slow/Fast rings flanking axe head retailers cartouche, the chain-driven movement striking on a coiled steel gong and chiming on four smaller, in arched case with wooden tracery, canted corners and stepped base, 56cm high Condition: Dial has tarnishing to chapter ring and cartouche. Movement appears to have been sat still for some period and will probably require an overhaul. Case has extensive blistering and cracking to curved roof plus substantial losses to one panel of tracery (incomplete losses detached but present), sold as seen. Second quarter 19th Century oak and burr elm snap-top pedestal occasional table, the rounded oblong top of fine figure and patina, raised on octagonal stem and concave triangular platform base with bun feet, 49.5cm x 44cm x 70cm high Condition: Top has general cracking and little lifting to veneer but is of excellent colour and untouched patina. The snapping mechanisim to underside is siezed and so top does not lock into place. Pedestal is missing five of six mouldings where stem broadens, and all six mouldings where pedestal meets triangular base. Feet are generally dry and a little scuffed.
