Adams Globe Maker to the King & Optician to HRH The Duke of York, No.60 Fleet Street, London 1795", each 12in (30.5cm) diameter celestial and terrestrial globe made up of two sets of twelve hand-coloured engraved split gores (the celestial laid to the ecliptic pole), the equatorial graduated in degree, hours and minutes, the colures ungraduated, the ecliptic graduated in days of the month, the constellations depicted by mythical beasts and figures as well as scientific instruments, the gilt meridian circle divided on one side to each degree, with oak horizon and hand-coloured engraved paper graduated in degrees and showing compass directions, zodiac (with pictures, names and sigils) calendar scale and compass directions, also days of the month with Saints' days, on four quadrant supports upon three swept legs (both lacking compass/stretchers), {59cm (23.25in) high overall} (both A/F, terrestrial globe badly split/several crudely restored areas, faded and discoloured/varnish worn, the celestial globe punctured near Southern Polar region, otherwise similar to preceding)
