Scratches, gouges and chips to the wood commensurate with age and use but the framework is generally good and solid.

An Edwardian inlaid mahogany table vitrine, of shaped rectangular form, on cabriole legs, 63 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Some scratches and gouges to the wood surrounding the glass on the top, and some sun fading. Also some small chips around the top edges, particularly the corners in two to three places. One section of the frieze at the top of the right front leg is chipped and split with possible re-gluing, this split extends down the leg by around 4 cm on one side, and goes all the way through to the other side and extends down the right hand side of the leg by around 12 cm. Otherwise the legs and stretchers in good condition, with only occasional chips and scratches commensurate with age and use. All five panels of glass are intact and in good condition. What appears to be the original green fabric lining is present with some staining and fading. This has been covered by the loose piece of red velvet visible in the photograph. The bottom piece of interior moulding holding the front panel of glass in place, is detached but undamaged and requires re-gluing. Similarly the opposite panel at the back has the same piece of moulding detached but present and undamaged.

A specimen marble occasional table, on a simulated bamboo brass stand, 77 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Various chips, cracks and small areas of repair to the marble top with some small areas of loss, but overall presents well. The brass stand which supports the top is slightly wobbly due to one of the cross stretchers being detached from one of the legs, otherwise appears complete and in good condition with no obvious breaks or repairs. In terms of age the top is almost certainly 19th century, the base could be later.

A nest of four Chinese occasional tables, carved bamboo, the largest 50 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH The two smallest tables are generally in good condition with some ring marks on the top from drinks but no pierced or carved decoration appears to be missing. There doesn't appear to be any damage or restoration. The third largest of the tables has some chips to the pierced and carved decoration and some sun fading to the right hand side. There is also a broken stretcher on the bottom left on one of the joints, which appears to be repairable with seemingly no loss. The largest of the four tables also had some sun fading, some light scratches and dents and some discolouration to the top commensurate with age. One of the joints on the forward facing right hand corner of the top of the largest table is parting very slightly but overall the four tables present in good condition.

A late 19th century Arts & Crafts style oak folio type table, 128 cm wide See illustration Condition report Report by GH Generally very solid. No makers marks. No sign of old or new wood worm. Chips, scratches and gouges commensurate with age. The right front leg has two large splinters at the bottom and the front left leg also has a small splinter. Some scratches and dents to the top surface and some fading and marks. Structurally very good and joints very solid.

Many of the dents are not particularly noticeable, however, the dents on the back of the hand held mirror are fairly prominent, as are the smaller dents on the back of two of the hair brushes. Overall the set presents well.

The chess board and the hinges and strut are in good condition as is the tripod base with only occasional chips, scratches and dents commensurate with age.
