A PAIR OF ANGLO-INDIAN HARDWOOD PEDESTAL TABLES CIRCA 1830 each 73cm high, the tops 57.5cm diameter Condition Report: Both tables with the marks, knocks, scratches and abrasions commensurate with age and use. The expected old splits and chips. Some sun fading, dark marks, and filler to the timber in places - see images. Both tops with old glued repairs to the joints across the centres of them (filler has also been used). A few possible later screws to the stretchers beneath the tops and to the undersides of the feet. Glue residue and filler visible to the bases where one of the tri-form elements has a join. One table with an old paper storage label to the underside of the top, the other table with the initials 'W.H.H' to the underside of the top. A Louis XVI style ormolu mounted table de centre after Adam Weisweiler (1750-1810), possibly by Beurdeley, 20th century, designed with marquetry inlaid top with eared corners, above a dummy drawer with cast ormolu garland frieze centered with sphinges either side of a mercury mask, legs with cast female busts headed by floral baskets, joined by an interlaced stretcher with pierced ormolu basket, on toupie feet, 78 cm high x 85 cm wide x 49 cm deepNote: The original model of the desk by Weisweiler was made for Marie-Antoinette's bedroom at the Chateau de Saint Cloud.
