A Victorian oval gold, sapphire, diamond and enamel locket, the central oval mixed cut sapphire 7mm x 8mm, housed in a closed foil backed setting set within a white enamel and rose cut diamond ten point star burst surround, the locket 30mm x 50mm (including suspension link), 19.8g gross, on a heavy trace link chain with snap clasp, 81.5cm long, 9.6g CONDITION REPORT: Locket - There is one very very small dent to the side of the locket (see photo). Gilding in good order. An area at the back of the locket would indicate that it has been acid tested in the past due to slight discolouration. Suspension link has old scratch marks on it which would have been done to test the metal and signs of an acid test. Sapphire has unworn facet edges and no damage and displays natural inclusions through a 10x lens with a very small natural inclusion on the table facet visible through a 10x lens.
