A mahogany serving table, late 19th century, having a boxwood strung edge above two oak lined drawers with brass drop handles and supported upon square tapering legs terminating in spade feet (one drawer stamped "Morris & Co., Edinburgh). Width 137 cm, height 84 cm, depth 61 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The top is a little faded hence the lighter tones. The legs, drawer fronts and sides are however a shade darker. The colour of our online photograph is reasonably accurate.
A George III mahogany tripod table, with circular top with moulded edge and turned column beneath. Diameter 41 cm. CONDITION REPORT: There are numerous old ring stains to the top. There is a very small circular indent to the top surface. The moulded edge has a small section missing which is approximately 2.8 cm in length and 1 cm in depth. There are other further small knocks to the rim but nothing I would consider detrimental. In my opinion the top and base are a marriage with the base being later than the top. There are two small indentations on the central knop of the column but no other flaws evident. One of the downswept legs has been broken and repaired but is not a recent repair. Generally the colour and patina are consistent throughout but the column and legs are ever so slightly lighter than the top.
A Regency Gillows style rosewood writing table, with red tooled leather writing surface, rounded corners and single frieze drawer, raised on a turned column with quatreform base, scroll feet and brass capped castors. Width 79 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally good order. The leather surface is serviceable but has numerous scuffs, scratches and old ring marks, etc. The crossbanded surround is in good order with no losses. The crossbanded edge has minor scuffs to the corners but no significant issues. The drawer operates as it should. At the far right hand side of the bottom edge there is one bead missing. The rear and sides of the table top are in good order with no issues. The table is structurally sound. The column is in good order. The quatreform base has minor old stress veneer fractures but no significant veneer losses only minor nibbles. The feet do not appear to have any breaks and are in good order. One foot is slightly loose at its joint. The castors are in good order and original. This table is not a marriage.
A carved and stained pine Rococo style console table, 19th century, with variegated marble top on S scroll and foliate supports. Width 86 cm, height 86 cm, depth 49 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The marble top is in good condition. There are no cracks or breaks. There are one or two very minor edge nibbles but no real condition issues with the marble at all. The support itself is in generally good order. The joints at the tops of the legs are sturdy and there is no movement. Where the cabriole legs join the centre shell there is some movement at the joints. The frieze beneath the marble top is in generally good order with only very minor nibbles. The carved sections beneath do not appear to have any losses. The right hand carved section has had a small break but the piece has been refitted and there are no losses. The cabriole legs do not appear to have any breaks. There are minor surface scuffs and nibbles particularly around the feet but no serious condition issues.
A walnut matched dining room suite, early 20th century, the extending dining table with well figured top and two spare leaves, six ladderback chairs, sideboard fitted with cupboard doors and three drawers. Table extended 228 cm, height 76 cm. CONDITION REPORT: Table width 100 cm. Table length excluding leaves 136 cm. Each leaf 45.5 cm. The table is structurally very sound. It is a good warm colour. The top has numerous old marks and blemishes as one would expect but no significant issues. It is well figured. The canted table edge is in generally good order with only very minor losses. The frieze is also in good condition. The bottom moulding to one leaf has a 20 cm loss. This is an old loss with no significant colour differentiation. There is a further small loss of +/- 3 cm to the same moulding on the canted angle above one leg. All legs are structurally sound with no repairs. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The winding mechanism operates. The sideboard is similarly in good condition. There are no losses to any mouldings only minor marks and blemishes as one would expect. It is structurally sound and all feet are present as are all handles. The chairs are all structurally very sound with no loose joints. The leather is beginning to perish on all chairs. Three have tears to the tops surface and creased wear. They are useable however reupholstery would be sensible in the longer term.
A Victorian mahogany extending dining table, with two leaves, with rounded corners, recessed frieze and raised on four turned legs terminating in brass and ceramic castors. Width 122 cm, length including leaves 242 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The table is structurally sound. There are no loose joints. The table top is flat and not warped. It does however have numerous old water and ring marks and as a consequence losses to some of the original polish. The two leaves which have seen less use are darker in colour and in generally better condition than the remainder of the table top. The legs are in good order and the castors are original. The winding mechanism appears to operate. We do not have a winding handle.
A Victorian walnut dressing table, with centre cheval mirror, raised on a plinth base. Width 127 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The pediment has had an old break to the left hand side of the middle scroll. The mirror plate is serviceable but beginning to show some signs of silvering. The scroll supports are both in good order. All drawer fronts are in good condition. The lock is present but we do not have a key.
A George III mahogany card table, with inverted breakfront opening to a baize lined interior with counter wells and fitted with a frieze drawer and raised on shell carved cabriole legs terminating in pad feet. Width 98 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The table is in generally good condition. The top is a good colour and not warped. There has been a triangular repair to the rear left hand corner. This incorporates the brass hinge suggesting a break in the past. The moulded edge is in good condition to both parts of the top. The lock escutcheon and handles have been replaced. The lock itself is old but again maybe a later replacement. All legs are in good condition with no signs of any breaks. The piece is structurally very sound. The table appears to have been fairly recently cleaned and waxed. There is no sign of any woodworm.
