A set of six George III silver Old English pattern table forks, by Eley and Fearn, London 1805, the reverse of the terminals with a crest, approx. weight 13oz. (6) The crest is that of Sir William Lowther (1757-1844) created 1st Earl of Lonsdale of Westmorland and also a Knight of the Garter in 1807. Sir William had been an MP from 1780 until the date of his peerage. Thereafter he served as Lord Lieutenant of Cumberland and Westmorland.
