A 17th century style oak joint three tier console table. A piece from Liberton Tower [70X79X46CM] Liberton Tower stands on a hill top site with stunning views over Edinburgh. Built shortly after 1453, it was originally connected to the Dalmahoys family and a carved panel, on the upper part of the wall on the south side, shows their crest emblem, an arm and sword. Later it passed to a branch of the Forresters of Corstorphine, before it was finally disponed to the Littles, a merchant family and Lords Provost of Edinburgh.
A group of three Cantagalli maiolica pottery bowls, probably table salts, circa 1900, each modelled with a mythical half human beast form handle whose serpent tail form legs are gripping the sides, the oval bowl with three moulded lips, each painted to the outside with grotesques, mythical beasts, and swags, and to the inside with a mythical fish beast or flowers in swirling water, painted cockerel marks to bases, each 26 by 18 by 13.5cm high.
