CONDITION REPORT: This table is not in particularly good condition there are numerous stains and scratches to the top surface. The base and top may well be matched. One of the scroll feet has been broken on the base and been reglued and it is missing its castors. It would probably be sensible to leave this alone.

Width 21.5 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This is generally in extremely good order. The top and flaps are well figured and there is no evidence of any warping or any losses to the crossbanding. Both end supports are in good order as are the legs, feet & original castors. The drawer operates as it should. This piece will have originally had a sliding bag beneath the drawer. The frame for the bag is present but clearly the fabric section is missing.

A 19th century Cumberland oak farmhouse table, with turnover top, fitted with three frieze drawers and raised on tapered legs of rectangular section. Length 82 ins, width folded 33.5 ins, open 67 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This table really is in extremely good condition. There is no significant bowing to the top. The table has its original hinges. The table top is made from six planks and there are shrinkage gaps between the planks. The gate leg mechanism works correctly and the legs are in generally very good order. The table has an excellent colour. The brass drop handles whilst in keeping with the table are later replacements. The table will have originally had a single brass drop handle or possibly a wooden knob handle. The current handles are in keeping and do not detract.

Attributed to Gillows of Lancaster, a Regency rosewood library table, well figured, fitted with two frieze drawers, the left fitted for cutlery and raised on turned and lobed end supports with scroll feet. Width 52 ins (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The width of the table is 51.5 ins. It is in very good condition. The top is flat and has no damage to the veneers. Both drawers operate as they should and the drawer fronts and frieze are all in good order. There is no beading missing. The table is sturdy and firm at the joints. There is no significant damage to the columns or base supports. There are even very few scuffs around the bottom of the scroll legs. The table could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration. The table is certainly very much in the style of Gillows of Lancaster and has come in for sale from that area. A more correct catalogue description may well have been "in the style of" rather than a direct attribution.

We have all of the clips. The three pedestals are in very good condition as are the castors. The table does have a few minor surface scratches but no problems of any real significance. It could be used or resold in its current condition without the need for any repair or restoration.

A William IV mahogany dining table, comprising pair of ends and leaves, each end with quatreform base with scroll supports and recessed castors. Width 44 ins, length including two leaves 82 ins. CONDITION REPORT: The two table ends are in generally good condition. The tops are both flat and well figured and the supports are sturdy. The quatreform base in both cases has small veneer losses and old veneer repairs which is usual and caused by peoples feet. The scroll feet are scuffed at the extremities as is usual. Overall they are however in generally good order. We are not sure if the two leaves are original. The larger one may be and the smaller one has a slightly different colour even though the grain is similar. The supporting mechanism may also be later. The overall effect of the table is generally good.
