Merchant's table from Jalalabad. This would be used in a market or small shop. Most likely the merchant would sit cross legged behind and use the drawer to hold cash. 58 x 58 x 34cm. Late 20th c. Notes: Tables like this are also used by letter writers. Few people can read and write, so since the Government require written application for almost everything, scribes are kept busy. Their tables are most likely covered with spilled ink stains.
Large Victorian extending dining table on carved legs with an extra leaf and the handle. In good condition with some marks and scuffs to show signs of wear. Some old worm noted on the reverse. The table is on casters. Sold in de-assembled condition. 158 x 131 x 74cm tall. The leaf is 43cm wide. A grand item.

Some of the brass handles are slightly loose and slightly leaning to one side. A few visible minor cracks to the surface of the table which do not detract overly. The table has been French polished at some point perhaps around 20 years ago. Structurally sound and no sign of worm. The drawers run smoothly. In generally good condition commensurate with age and use. One drop leaf perhaps very very slightly warped.
