Previously converted for use as a table lamp. Possibly originally with a bowl or other ornament applied to the top.
A 19th century French fruitwood table with a three-plank top enclosed by styles either end, above two fitted drawers and raised on square legs with canted corners, united by a H stretcher80.5cm high x 83cm wide x 266.5cm longDents nicks and scratches commensurate with age and use, particularly noticeable around the edge of the top and down the legs. Movement in the planks on the top resulting in a gap between two of the planks running from one end and tapering off in the middle of the table. A minor crack to one end on the top. Damage to the large drawer at the end. Both drawers slide very poorly within their fittings. Evidence of historic woodwork, particularly noticeable on the legs. The stretcher appears to be a later addition.
