The collection mainly consists of programmes, handbills and newspaper pieces but also includes oddities such as a Bertram Mills contract, the Table Plan for their inaugural luncheon 22nd June 1953, the Daily Graphic photgraph album commemorating Bertram Mills silver jubilee and a David Smart mug. There are also a number of books on circuses and performers such as Coxe, A Seat at the Circus1951; Mannix, Memoirs of a Sword-Swallower, 1951; Lukens, The Sanger Story, 1956; Eipper, Circus, 1931; and Barnum's Struggles and Triumphs, [c.1880]. A study of what Lord Morrison called the ''oldest and cleanest form of entertainment in the world.''
