There is a small area of skinning (approx 1cm) to the upper right edge on the sheet bearing the image of the matador spearing the bull. Each sheet with some undulation under the glaze.The remaining two images unexamined out of glazed frame. Some nibbling to exposed edges, and the shaft has some pouring bubbles to the interior. The underside of the moulded top rim has some darker marks/residue, and the gilt top has some rubbing/wear. A Scottish Regency mahogany dressing table, by James Mein of Kelso, circa 1815, with remains of the makers label to underside, 93cm high, 100cm wide, 53cm deep The Mein family are recorded as cabinet makers in Kelso from 1784- 1851. James Mein (the elder) founded the firm as makers of fine quality furniture and following his death in 1830 his nephew (also called James Mein) took over the business until its dissolution due to bankruptcy in 1851. Their many important patrons are known to have included the 5th & 6th Dukes of Roxburghe at Floors Castle, and the Earl of Haddington at Mellerstain.

LONDON, GEOGRAPHICAL INSTITUTE, GEORGE PHILIP & Son LTD, 32 FLEET STREET, LONDON and with keys for steamer and railway routes to North Pacific, extensively annotated with principal cities, towns, rivers, lakes, mountains and other significant topographical features, the oceans with all significant islands labelled, the Equator and Eliptic lines graduated in minutes and each pole with brass hour ring and pivots for mounting within the iron meridian circle divided for degrees, resting in wooden stand with coloured paper horizon ring graduated in degrees in two directions, days-of-the-month and houses of the Zodiac with names and symbols and also displaying compass directions, raised on three ebonised baluster turned supports with conforming baluster stretcher to support the meridian ring at the base, 54cm, (21.5ins) high approx.Condition Report: In original unrestored condition. The sphere has patchy wear and discolouration to the varnish/finish mainly to Northern hemisphere however the gores are sound and noteworthy scuffs limited to one to Greenland and another to Finland. The horizon papers also have patchy discolouration and wear but are otherwise intact. A mahogany breakfast table, circa 1820, the rectangular top with ebonised string inlay, above four turned supports and a outswept legs with further inlaid decoration, 72cm high, the top 134 x 100cm Condition Report: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions consistent with age and use,Polished overall, but there is a patch of wear near the middle of the table where the polish has worn away, Some old cracks and openings to joints, some of these have been fixed with a butterfly to the underside, The top secure on the base with little wobble, catch functioning at time of report, Signs of old woodworm to some areas of the supporting blocks, Some legs with splices and old repairs - this appears to have had some professional restoration previously Please refer to additional images for visual reference to condition Condition Report Disclaimer
