2003 Nissan 350Z Coupe Make: Nissan Model: 350Z Year: 2003Mileage: 83060VIN: Z33011251Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: M13SOJTransmission: manualRegistered in Japan in March 2003, this 350Z was imported into the UK in January 2008. Six former keepers are recorded on its V5C, with the odometer reading being 83,060 miles. The MoT expires in December of this year. Included in the paperwork file are the current V%cMoT certificates from 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2020, and a single 2017 invoice for a new battery. There's also a Nissan document wallet with owner's manual, warranty booklets and service book, showing the last service at 82,940 miles in December 2020. The auxiliary belts were also changed at the same time. The Nissan is in reasonable order, although a network of scratches is apparent on the nearside body from the passenger door backwards. 1989 Mercedes W126 500 SE AutoMake: Mercedes Model: 500 SE Year: 1989Mileage: 89000VIN: WDB1260362A471171Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: G142HUBTransmission: automatic The W126 was Mercedes-Benz's second generation S-Class, with a long production run from 1979 to 1991. Engines ranged from 2.6-litre six-cylinder units up to 5.5-litre V8s, with 818,063 saloons and 74,060 coupés being built, totalling 892,123, making the W126 the most successful S-Class type. This 1989 Almadinrot (metallic red) 500 SE automatic example, with red leather interior, has had two former keepers. It has a full Mercedes-Benz history up to 81,000 miles. The vendor informs us that within the last six months, it has been refurbished and fully serviced, including having its air conditioning done. Many new parts have been fitted including brakes, shock absorbers and air conditioning components. The paperwork folder includes the current V5C (recording two previous keepers) as well as the original document wallet with warranty form, UK and European sales and service booklets, owner's manual and the maintenance book, which records the last service in July 1998 at 81,494 miles. According to the online MoT history, the car spent from 2008 (when the mileage was approximately 86,500) to 2017 off the road. There's also an original supplying dealer tax disc holder and pre-delivery check sheet, some old tax discs, a selection of invoices for recent work including powdercoating of the wheels plus air conditioning compressor, condenser, dryer and filter, and 2019, 2020 and 2021 MoT certificates (with the latter valid until November 2022). The car also comes with its original and unopened first aid kit, tool kit and a Nokia car phone in the centre console. The factory spare key is present as well. Overall condition is very good, inside and out, although in certain lights, a slight mismatch in paint shades between the driver's door and its surrounding panels is noticeable. 1987 Rover SD1 2600 Vanden Plas AutoMake: Rover Model: SD1 Vanden PlasYear: 1987Mileage: 59800VIN: SARRRFWM3CM345142Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: D976XFETransmission: automatic In 1980, the Vanden Plas badge reached Rover's SD1 executive model, being applied to 2600 and 3500 models to denote flagships. Among the standard features were electrically-adjustable, heated door mirrors, cruise control, air conditioning and an electric sunroof, plus Dunlop Denovo tyres on alloy wheels, and a choice of velvet or Connolly leather upholstery. This white 2600 automatic with brown velvet interior was registered in April 1987. The vendor advises us that it spent around 20 years off the road - albeit indoors and under cover - before being acquired by a garage that intended to bring it back to the road. However, progress was slow, and the job was eventually taken over the the vendor, who did finish things off. Having done quite a lot of engine work, he reports that the car "runs beautifully". The current recorded mileage is 59,871. The paperwork file includes the current V5C, Rimmer Bros SD1 parts and accessories catalogue, original owner's handbook, a handful of tax discs from the turn of the century and various 2021 bills during the car's recommissioning. These total around £1500 in parts, with another handwritten note by the vendor chronicling a further £700 of expenditure, including £170 for the wheels to be shotblasted and coated, £140 for a rear suspension conversion (the original self-levelling system is in the boot, however), £110 for tyres and £200 for a camshaft and carrier. Overall, this Rover is in tidy order. The vendor carried out a bottom half respray himself, which he admits isn't to professional standards, but looks presentable enough. The only electrical fault he notes is that the driver's door mirror is inoperative. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
1972 Range Rover Classic 3.5 V8 Manual Suffix A""Make: Land RoverModel: Ranger Rover Classic Year: 1972Mileage: 31000VIN: 35504671AConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: SCK670LTransmission: manual'Suffix A' Range Rover production ran from the introduction of the Rover's upmarket off-roader from 1970 through to 1973, when the 'Suffix B' models were introduced - thus, a Suffix A is the Range Rover in its purest, most original two-door form - and all the more desirable to enthusiasts because of that. This Tuscan Blue example, registered in September 1972, was restored five years ago but then never used. The vendor tells us that lots of money was spent, during what was a body-off rebuild. All the panels were dipped and painted, while the suspension was treated to Bilstein shocks, a new steering box and Polyurethane bushes throughout. The Rover V8 engine was rebuilt, an Allisport alloy radiator fitted, a new clutch put in, and the brakes renewed, with Goodridge brake lines throughout. A new fuel tank was installed, along with a Facet fuel pump. All tyres were renewed. While the vehicle has been sat in a dry garage for three years, it will need some recommissioning to be returned to the road. A new rear bumper is also required. The indicated mileage is 31,575. The history folder includes bills from the restoration running to several thousands, as well as the current V5C document. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 30TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
1974 Morris Marina 1.3 SDLMake: MorrisModel: MarinaYear: 1974Mileage: 62863VIN: MA4S9S432856MConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: GEW84NTransmission: ManualThis Morris Marina 1.3 SDL four-door saloon, in Harvest Gold with blue vinyl interior, was registered in November 1974. Part of a large barnfind, it has been dry-stored for 35 years. No logbook or any other documents are present and the indicated mileage is 62,863.
1980 Fiat X1/9Make: Fiat Model: X1/9Year: 1980Mileage: 52848VIN: 124197Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: LPJ17WTransmission: manualThis example of Fiat's small sports car of 1972 to 1989 was registered in November 1980. Two former keepers are recorded on the V5. The vendor acquired it in November 1989, freed off the the brakes and then towed it home to be stored in a barn, where it remained 'unstarted and untouched' for the next 32 years. It is described as entirely original. The worst of the rust seems to at the bottom of the driver's door; although there is corrosion elsewhere, the car seems generally solid. The odometer records 52,848 miles.
1959 Triumph TR3AMake: Triumph Model: TR3AYear: 1959Mileage: 75075VIN: TS54570Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: XXJ823Transmission: manualAlthough it was never officially badged as the TR3A by Triumph, such were the significant upgrades to the TR3 model made in 1957 that enthusiasts have unofficially designated these 1957-62 cars as such to differentiate them from their predecessors. The updates included a new wide front grille, exterior door handles, lockable boot handle and, for those inconvenient moments of obstinance, a full tool kit as standard. The total production run of the TR3A was 58,236, making it the third best-selling TR after the TR6 and TR7. This Royal Blue example, fitted with overdrive, is a well-known car within the TR Register and was used until recently to make regular trips to Europe with Brooklands aero screens, tonneau cover and a flying jacket, according to the vendor. Around three years ago it was sympathetically improved with new carpets, seats and refreshed paintwork. A single pipe sports exhaust and chrome wire wheels were also added. 1988 Lotus Esprit TurboMake: Lotus Model: Esprit Turbo Year: 1988Mileage: 39962VIN: SCC082910JHD13051Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: E21BNMTransmission: manualAfter the launch of the Giugario-designed Esprit in 1976, the next major development was the introduction of turbocharging in 1980, initially in the Essex Turbo Esprit. In 1987, the very angular Esprit was redesigned by Peter Stevens - later to pen the McLaren F1 - with a shape that closely followed Giugario's lines, but added a few softer, more rounded edges. This striking red 2174cc Esprit Turbo is one of the Stevens models, and was registered in April 1988. Its MoT is valid until October 2022. The vendor tells us that it had three former keepers before being purchased by Cooper Hirst Auctions in 1998, with the title transferred its owner Richard Hirst. Unfortunately, all its documentation was destroyed in 2008 when there was a fire at the auction house's premises in Chelmsford. However, a letter from Richard Hirst's son in 2017, included in the paperwork, states that he believes the car was regularly serviced when in use, and had a history supporting this. It spent around nine years in dry storage, while under Hirst ownership. After the vendor acquired the Lotus in 2017, it has mainly been SORN in dry storage. The mileage - currently reading 39,962 - is believed to be correct, but can't be warranted. Included in the paperwork folder is the current V5C, correspondence between Richard Hirst's son and the vendor (including some photocopies of newspaper reports regarding the Chelmsford fire), and recent bills such as work to renew the pop-up headlamp mechanism (£394.38 in September 2021) and a new radiator, shock absorber and brake parts, plus other sundry items (£1794.00 in March 2018) and headlamps (£342 in 2016). There's also 2008, 2016 and 2018 MoT certificates plus Kenwood CD player instructions. While the body shows some signs of age, and there's some wear to the beige leather interior, overall the Lotus presents well. The driver's seat has lost some of its support, and the driver's external door handle can be temperamental. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 12TH OCTOBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
1964 Jaguar MKX 3.8 AutomaticMake: JaguarModel: MKXYear: 1964Mileage: 5890VIN: 307362BWConfiguration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: ABC757BTransmission: automaticThis example of Jaguar's huge and powerful luxury leviathan of the 1960s was registered in March 1964. It is finished in green with matching green leather interior. The current V5C lists five former keepers, and there are a few past V5 documents included in the history file as well. This also has a selection of MoTs from 2017 back to 1983, various bills from the 1970s onwards, and a handful of tax discs. Documents dating from the car's purchase include the Jaguar manufacturer's warranty, Radiomobile radio guarantee and service book - or 'periodic maintenance vouchers' booklet, as Jaguar liked to refer to it. There are 2002 and 2003 receipts from Jaguar specialist Robinson & Godwin Classics of Grimsby totalling £5000 for an engine and gearbox overhaul and some further renovation work, although little detail is given. This would have been around the 62,000-mile mark. The current odometer reading is 05891; referring to the history suggests this is actually 105,891. Overall condition is good, although there is some tarnishing apparent on the chrome and some bubbles apparent in areas on the paint. The seats have some surface cracks and the dashboard and door capping wood has some deterioration in places, but is generally surviving well. The rear window weatherstrip has started to break up around the back parcel shelf. PLEASE SEE BELOW FOR VIDEO PRODUCED 28TH SEPTEMBER BY ACA OF THIS CAR.
2003 Jaguar XKR 4.2 Coupe Auto 24,000 miles from new Make: Jaguar Model: XKRYear: 2003Mileage: 38534VIN: SAJKC41R943A38842Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: LN53ABOTransmission: automaticOriginally registered in Japan in early 2003, the vendor tells us that this supercharged Jaguar XKR coupe was rarely driven out there for 15 years, where it was regarded as a status symbol. Upon coming to the UK in 2018, it has apparently been garaged and not used in bad weather. The current mileage is 23,934 miles (albeit recorded as 38,534km). The car is finished in Midnight Black with Dove Grey leather interior and rides on unmarked 18inch Hydra alloy wheels. The body is in excellent condition, with no signs of any paintwork being carried out, and just some polishing swirl marks and a couple of small stonechips by the nearside headlight being the only real blemishes. The door shut lines are even, the bumpers are free from any scuffs (thanks to parking sensors) and the Hydra alloys are very good. They're clad in Dunlop Sport tyres which were fitted less than 1500 miles ago. With Japanese roads seeing less salt than their British equivalents, the underneath of the Jaguar is very well-preserved. There's minimal wear to the Dove Grey interior, with the electrics on the front seats functioning as they should. The rear seat looks like it's had very little use. The speedometer is now in mph, but the odometer remains in Japanese market km. Both the sat nav and the radio have been converted to UK specification, and there's a six-disc CD changer in the boot. The vendor reports that the XJR drives and handles very well, pulls through its gears nicely and changes smoothly. There are no untoward noises. The brakes behave exactly as they should, pulling the car up sharply and in a straight line. The history file includes the UK V5C showing three former registered keepers. Among the most recent invoices are one for a full service in September 2020 plus replacement front anti-roll bar links (£671.76), MAF sensor in February 2020, (£142.80), a complete set of Dunlop tyres in July 2019 (£630) and a replacement steering rack in July 2018. The original document folder includes the audio systems handbook, maintenance record, quick guide and driver's handbook, albeit all in Japanese. There's the NOVA import notification, verified Jevic certificate, specification and options print-out. The MoT certificates from 2019, 2020 and 2021 are present, with the expiry date for the last one being August 2022. A spare set of keys is included. 1978 Ford Escort RS 2000 MK2Make: Ford Model: Escort RS 2000Year: 1978Mileage: 63975VIN: CXATUR63333Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: YNF669STransmission: manualThe Escort RS2000 Mk2 is one of the most desirable of all 1970s' 'fast' Fords, and also one of the most distinctive, with its wedge-shaped polyurethane nose cone and other performance styling flourishes. This Diamond White example originated from South Africa and is one of fewer than 1000 made there. The two-door bodyshell has the same heavy duty inner wings and rear chassis rails as the UK shells, along with a rear stabiliser bar and large fuel tank located in the boot over the rear axle. All the cars were fitted with opening front quarterlights (to combat the warmer, dry climate) and Beta cloth-trimmed Scheel recliners, which are still fitted on this example. The car has its correct RS2000 features including the 2.0-litre Pinto engine with progressive twin-venturi single Weber carburettor and original four-speed gearbox. It is fitted with original 6J x 13in RS alloy wheels and the 185/60 R13 tyres are nearly new. The Weathershields Ltd Sunway Roof has, apparently, been fitted from new. Supplied new in 1978 and imported to the UK in 2015, this car is now fully UK registered. The history file includes the current V5C, old MoT certificates, import paperwork and invoices totalling over £2300 for mechanical and cosmetic parts. There's also a picture of the Escort and its proud owner at the Hoddesdon Town Centre Vintage and Classic Vehicle Display in 2015, where it won Car of the Show. There are some blemishes to the paintwork visible, but the refurbishment seems to have been undertaken to a generally good standard. All trim sections and RS decals and badges remain intact and in excellent order. Inside, the seats have been retrimmed. All dashboard functions operate perfectly. The dash top has been re covered and the original leather bound three spoke steering wheel remains with a RS central boss cover. The carpets and door cards are in excellent condition. 1990 Saab 900i 16v Convertible Make: SaabModel: 900i 16v Convertible Year: 1990Mileage: 104638VIN: YS3AC75D1L7028572Configuration: Right Hand DriveRegistration: H92XHVTransmission: manualThe black 1990 example of Saab's stylish 900 convertible was registered in August of that year, and is 2.0i 16-valve manual transmission pre-cat model. The vendor tells us that this is a well-maintained, original car with a recent new hood. The interior is beige leather. The MoT is a recent one, and valid until October 2022. Very recent work has included new brake pads and discs front and rear, battery and an engine service. There is rust showing on the door bottoms - a very common place for it to break out on these otherwise usually resilient Swedish cars - as well as on the offside front and nearside rear arches. Included in the history file is the V5C showing four previous registered keepers plus the current MoT certificate. The odometer records 104,638 miles.
