A Georgian Oak Bookcase, with moulded cornice, fitted six shelves enclosed by a pair of astragal glazed doors, on plinth base, 47ins wide x 14ins deep x 83ins highTo the top of the cornice on all three front edges there are edge knocks and general rubbing, to each side and the base there is general scattered scratching and darker staining and the front is unevenly faded. There is heavier dirt and filth build up between all of the mouldings of the glazing. Key is present and locking mechanisms work however it is slightly warped at the higher end of the right door. Heavier darker scratching and water marks to each shelf. Overall the item is structurally sound with some movement in the joints and to the back right hand edge and left hand edge there are some more extensive edge knocks and timber loss. General heavier wear to the base commensurate with age. Overall the item is in fair condition.

An 18th Century Oak Dresser, the upper part with moulded cornice, fitted three shelves, the base fitted four drawers with cupboard under enclosed by fielded panel doors, on block feet, 63.5ins wide x 20ins deep x 75ins highTo the top at the cornice on the right hand side there are some areas of shrinkage and at the front with a diagonal shrinkage split around 4ins long. On the side a shrinkage split where the boards meet the uprights vertically from one end to the other. And in the centre another shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other. On the left hand side there are shrinkage splits running vertically from one end to the other. The shelves of the top - all the backboards are showing signs of shrinkage. On the second backboard there is an area of repair in a triangular section and general shrinkage splits running vertically from one end to the other all the way along. To the top of the base and the shelves there is general scattered scratching. heavier staining (water marks). To the top of the base the rail is missing a piece of timber around 3ins long. There is a wide shrinkage split running horizontally in two places from one to the other. On the left hand side of the panels areas of shrinkage with horizontal shrinkage splits running from one end to the other, and the same for the right hand side. Drawers run free and easily with minimal resistance, however there is some slight shadowing around the handles. On the left hand door there is a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other, also the centre door on the right hand side. Also the right door in two places on the left hand side. General heavier wear to the base and feet commensurate with age. Overall there are flight holes present, evidence of historic woodworm. Unevenly faded. The item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints.

A George III Mahogany Secretaire Bookcase, the upper part with dentil moulded cornice, four shelves enclosed by a pair of panelled doors, the base with secretaire drawer, and two drawers under, shaped apron and splayed feet, 39ins wide x 19.5ins deep by 80ins highTo the top of the cornice there are some slight edge knocks and general rubbing to all three edges, there is some loss to the dental frieze with some small .25ins square piece of timber missing. On the right-hand door the moulding is loose but present, on the right-hand side at the top there are three areas of circular polish and veneer loss. The right hand side has a small shrinkage split running vertically about 6ins long at the top. The whole is unevenly faded and there is some darker staining, especially on the door panels and at the top of the base. The drawers run free and easy with minimum resistance, key is present, locking mechanisms work. When opening the secretaire drawer the leather lined slope has been heavily distressed, especially in the centre where it folds. There is some darker staining of ink inside the wells. General heavy wear to the base and feet commensurate with age, overall the item is structurally sound, however, there is some movement to the joints, and there appears to be some flight holes present, evidence of historic woodworm

A George III Mahogany Bow Front Sideboard, with cross banded edge to top, fitted one frieze drawer, flanked by cupboards, each enclosed by a double dummy drawer fronted door, above shaped arch and on six square tapered legs with spade toes, 52ins wide x 26ins deep x 35.5ins highThe top has some heavy areas of scratching which appear to be quite fresh, most notably on the crossbanding at the front and in the centre at the back. Darker staining to the top and watermarks. Around all edges there are some knocks and rubbing. On the left hand panel the veneer is starting to bubble and there is a shrinkage split horizontally from one end to the other. On the left hand side there is a leg off but it is present. Drawer runs easily. General heavier wear to the legs and feet commensurate with age. Overall the item is structurally sound with little to no movement to the joints.

A 19th Century French Gilt Metal and Porcelain Mounted Mantle Clock by S Martie & Cie, the case stamped by Philipe H Mourey, No.12679, the 3.5ins porcelain dial with gilt Arabic numerals and painted with ribbons and flowers to centre with pink border to the eight day striking movement (lacking bell) contained in drum-pattern case surmounted by two-handled urn, inset with porcelain panels painted with figures in a landscape with porcelain columns to front flanked by bacchanalian cherubs and on shaped base with porcelain and turned feet 21.5ins highThe clock presents in 'as found' condition, the gilding is mostly present and in good condition but is patchy around the two cherubs, particularly around the torso and limbs and there is evidence of re-gilding to the front of the clock itself. The main body of the clock to the sconce at the top has one of the left hand handles/mounting brackets broken off but is present. The base has several cracks to the front in the centre. The enamel work is mostly quite good, with just a few slight hairline cracks. One of the bottom right hand bulbous feet is detached, the rear door is not present. The mechanism appears to be complete but should be regarded as untested (possibly non functional). The hands appear original. Overall and honest thing requiring attention. It does show several minor cracks to the mouldings which is normal for a clock of this age, about six in number. The top appears to be original as is the carrying handle. The swags appear original but should be regarded as in need of re-gilding. The glass is intact and appears to be original with no obvious signs of chips or other damage. The dial appears to be in good order although it may have been re-silvered at some point. The black baton numerals are clear and crisp and the hands appear original. The door functions correctly, the hinges appear original and free from any obvious sign of previous damage. The mechanism appears to be complete but is unsigned, however we cannot warrant the originality of all components. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. The key is present.

All the glasses are intact and appear to be undamaged, likewise the door, the hinges are good -it opens and closes - the movement appears to be complete but we cannot vouch for its originality. the clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. A 19th Century French Provincial Oak Armoire, with moulded cornice, the frieze carved with vase of flowers and fruiting vines, fitted five shelves enclosed by a pair of carved and glazed doors, shaped apron, on conforming short cabriole legs, 48ins x 20ins x 90ins high Note: Shelves missing To the cornice on all three front edges there are some edge knocks and general rubbing all the way round. On the left hand corner there is signs of shrinkage running horizontally. The joints are beginning to open up, and the same on the right-hand side, on the right-hand side at the top the panel has a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other, and on the lower panel is an area of damage around 4ins long. On the bottom panel there is a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other. On the left-hand side the top panel has a shrinkage split running vertically from one end to the other, the same on the bottom panel. The left-hand door at the top there is a small area of repair around 4ins square, and around all of the shaped moulding of the glazing there are areas of shrinkage with slight oxidisation to the brass components. General heavy wear to the feet commensurate with age. There are flight holes present to the back boards, evidence of historic woodworm, as stated the shelves are missing, and the item is structurally sound, however, there is some movement to the joints

In general terms this cabinet appears to be in good condition with no obvious damage/loss/restoration.

A Late 19th Century French Carriage Clock retailed by Russells Ltd, Paris, the white enamel dial with Roman numerals to the eight day two train movement striking on a gong contained in brass and bevelled glass Corniche patterned case with presentation inscription "Presented to Sister Margaret on leaving St Paul's Tranmere June 1899" 5.25ins high and travelling case for sameThe exterior of the clock presents in good overall condition, showing patination of age and some slight rubbing in places to the gilt work. It is engraved to the top of the case 'Presented to Sister Margaret on leaving St Paul's Franmere June 1899'. All four side glasses and the top glass appear to be free from any chips or cracks, and there is no evidence of any previous repair. The hinges to the door function correctly, the door closes squarely and evenly. The enamel dial is free from hairline cracks and any obvious sign of previous damage or repair. The carry handle is in good condition and contains original leather sleeve and is correctly fastened. The clock winds and set but does not run at present, although the mechanism appears to be complete. There is no key present

An Edwardian Mahogany Longcase Clock, the 12.5ins arched brass dial with wide silver chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial to the matted centre, and chime silent to the arch, with cast spandrels, to the eight day two train movement striking on five tubular bells, contained in case inlaid with urns, oval fan motifs, ribbons and leaf scroll ornament, with scroll moulded cresting and reeded columns to hood, bevelled oval glass panelled trunk door, on plinth base with bracket feet, 94ins highExternally the clock presents in condition commensurate with age and moderate usage but in generally in fairly good condition. The main body of the clock is free from any signs of obvious damage or previous repair. The door hinges are original and in good condition. The glass appears original and free from any cracks, chips or scratches. The base appears to be contemporary and is free from any obvious sign of damage or repair. Internally the case presents well, no obvious sign of damage or previous repair, all weights and chimes are present as is the pendulum. The hood is in reasonable condition but does have two cracks either side of the scrollwork to the top, these will be visible in the photographs and one of the columns is also misplaced and slightly damaged. Otherwise it is in reasonable condition. The door - hinges appear original, the glass appears to be original and is free from any obvious signs of damage or cracks or chips. The dial - the silvering is good, the fretwork is nice and the black Roman numerals are clear and concise. The hands appear to be original. The fretwork to the sides of the hood is intact and appear to be free from any damage. The mechanism appears to be clean and complete. The chime hammers are intact, however it should be regarded as untested and we cannot warrant that all components are original. The winding crank is not present.

An 18th Century Green Japanned Longcase Clock, by John Watts of Canterbury, the 12ins arched brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, subsidiary seconds dial and date aperture to the matted dial centre and cast spandrels to corners, to the eight day two train movement striking on a bell contained in case decorated in gilt with chinoiseries, birds and flowers, with arched and moulded cornice and turned columns to hood, arched and moulded trunk door, on plinth base with bracket feet, 85ins high Note: John Watts of Canterbury recorded working 1720-1775 Externally the clock presents in good original condition showing wear and fading to the chinoiserie commensurate wuth age and usage. There is no obvious sign of any previous damage or repair, other than a great deal of patination of age. The hood appears to be in good condition, the door functions correctly and the glass appears to be original. The door is on its original hinges and appears to function correctly. The weights and pendulum are present. The mechanism appears complete but we cannot warrant the originality of all components. The clock should be regarded as untested. The brass dial is in good condition and the Roman numerals are clear and concise. The hands appear original. Overall a very honest example.

A Victorian Aesthetic Movement Oak and Parcel Gilt Chiffonnier, designed by A.W. Blomfield, with moulded cornice, dentil frieze, the upper part inset with three arched mirror panels and flanked by turned columns, the base fitted two shelves enclosed by a pair of moulded and panelled doors, with hinges made in the form of flesh, fish and fowl, on conforming supports, 39ins wide x 18ins deep x 65ins high Note: Illustrated in Charles Lock Eastlake's 'Hints on Household Taste', 1868 Most notably there is a white build-up of dust/dirt on the top level and the top of the base. General light scattered scratching to the whole and some darker staining. All three front edges of the top at the cornice have some slight edge knocks and general rubbing. There is some slight uneven fading to the top and the front and the right and left hand sides. Some minor scattered areas of parcel gilt loss all over. The mirror panels appear to be in good overall clean condition. All the door panels are present. One appears darker but in our opinion does not appear to be a replacement, there is a grain to the panel and it just appears to be a shade darker than the others. There are no obvious areas of damage, loss or restoration. The key is present and locking mechanisms work. There is some slight oxidisation to the metal components. General heavier wear to the feet commensurate with age. The doors are slightly swollen and the item is structurally sound with little to no movement in the joints, however the item is a little uneven with one of the feet slightly shorter than the other. There is a small area of timber loss to the back right hand leg which is making it a little uneven, however the whole appears to be in generally good overall and honest condition with no obvious damage, loss or restoration.

A 19th Century French Green Japanned Cased Mantle Clock by Samuel Marti, No.853, the 4ins domed cream dial with Arabic numerals to the eight day two train movement, striking on a gong, contained in case of Chinese pagoda pattern with turned finial to top and decorated in gilt with Chinoiseries on bracket feet 12.5ins highExternally the clock presents in good overall condition showing no obvious sign of previous damage or repair. The chinoiserie appears to be original, although the clear lacquer finish may have been replaced at some time. There is no obvious sign of damage or repair to the pagoda. Likewise the base which appears to be original and free from any previous damage. To the rear there is a slight chip to the gilding approximately 4mm to the beading under the main body of the clock in the centre of the clock. There are also one or two light chips commensurate with age and usage. Both sides appear to be in good condition. The rear door functions correctly and the hinge appears to be original. The mechanism appears complete (we cannot warrant the originality of all components). The pendulum is present as is the key. The clock winds, runs and sets however it should be regarded as untested. The white enamel dial is in good condition, free from any hairline cracks. The black Arabic numerals appear clear and concise, the hands appear to be original. The hinges to the front cover appear original and in functional order and the glass appears to be free from any chips or scratches.

A Late 19th Century French Brass Carriage Clock by Henri Jacot of Paris, No.8688, the white enamel dial with Roman and Arabic numerals to the eight day two train movement, striking and repeating on a gong, contained in brass and bevelled glass Corniche pattern case 5.75ins highExternally the clock presents in reasonable condition, showing no obvious sign of damage or previous repair. However the gilding is patchy and will possibly need re-gilding in the future. The white enamel dial seems to be free from any hairline cracks, likewise the Roman numerals are clear and concise. The hands appear original. None of the glass is showing any damage. The door functions correctly and the hinges are in good order. The mechanism appears to be complete (we cannot warrant the originality of all components). The clocks winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. This is a repeating clock, however the repeater button is missing, there is a hole where the button should be.

A Late 19th Century Oak Cased Timepiece, the 6.5ins silvered chapter ring with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds dial with aperture for pivoted detent escapement, to the eight day single train fusee movement and with weighted pendulum, on three turned brass pillars and with mirrored back to case, contained in arched top case with moulded corners, cornice and turned brass finials, on moulded base and three turned feet, 19.5ins highExternally the clock appears to have been subject to some minor restoration to the exterior, the finish being a little bright. There are several cracks to the hood, approximately 1.5ins long over an area of about 0.5ins, likewise there is a crack to the framework of the door on the left hand side near the top of the arch, the back has been secured by modern wood screws. The door functions correctly, the hinges appear to be original and the glass is in good condition showing no obvious sign of cracks or chips. The dial is very crisp with no damage to the silvering. The black Roman numerals are clear and concise and the hands appear original. The mechanism appears complete however we cannot warrant the originality of all components. The pendulum is present. The clock winds, runs and sets but should be regarded as untested. The key is present.
