Victorian figured burr walnut Canterbury, the central section with domed top, interior with divisions enclosed by carved and panelled door flanked by pierced fretwork side panels and joined by turned rails, moulded frieze drawer below, on turned feet with original white ceramic castors, 66cm wide CONDITION REPORT Good original condition. Some scratches and general wear, commensurate with age. Feet blocks replaced. Will require some cleaning / re-polishing

A Scottish mahogany longcase timepiece of small proportions, James Howden, Edinburgh, early 19th century, the eight-day single train movement with anchor escapement and inverted Y-shaped plates united by three knopped pillars, the 10 inch circular brass Roman numeral dial signed James Howden, EDINBURGH to centre and with Arabic five minutes to outer track, the case with cavetto dentil cornice above plain frieze and columns flanking circular aperture to the front door, the trunk with shaped-top caddy moulded door above tall plinth base with moulded skirt, 193cm (76ins) high.
