An exhibition quality 3½ inch gauge model of a London North Western Railway Precursor Class 4-4-0 live steam tender locomotive ‘The Achilles’ No. 310, builder unknown. The silver soldered copper boiler with fittings including steam pressure gauge, water sight-glass, regulator, hinged firebox door and direction control wheel. The chassis with twin inside cylinders having Stephenson’s valve gear and fluted motion. The six wheel tender with fitted tool boxes, gallery, hand operated water feed pump, fitted steps, hand rails and coupling.The model finished in traditional black and red lined livery with detailed rivet-work, name plate and crest to splashers and fitted cab-side number plate, fitted steps, hand rails, lamp irons with lamps, vacuum hoses and couplings. Missing moulding from hood. It is currently working but not sure how long it will run for or keep time.

Porcelain plaque is ok and doors are not cracked. Overall in good condition, just needs a good polish and clean. 59.5ins wide x 39ins deep x 15.5ins high
