An architectural model of a corner shop, 20th century, constructed from plywood with strip wood and beading details, the hinged frontage opening to two floors, 32cm W x 33.5cm D x 59.5cm H CONDITION REPORT:The model shows a partial split to the left and right hand central fascia boards, approximately 9cm long and 7cm long, and a further split to the door bracket approximately 1cm long. Some of the joints show some glue residue. Some of the reeded and moulded details show the odd small chip and split. The back panel shows two drilled holes, possibly for wall mounting. The piece would benefit from cleaning.
A Regency mahogany bracket clock signed Rob (sic) Gask, Horncastle, the break arch case with brass swing handle and brass fish scale side grilles, encasing the 17cm painted dial applied with Roman numerals and centred with the makers name, below a strike/silent indicator, enclosing the twin fusee movement striking on a saucer bell, the back plate and pendulum with a conforming chased foliate border, 41cm highCondition reportLight scratch marks to the clock dial particularly around key apertures, dial possibly later.Clock runs when wound however no guarantee of working condition, evidence of refurbishment and restoration, front and rear door glasses are later.Light wear to the case only with minor tarnishing to the brass fittings.
A George III mahogany and satinwood cross banded eight day longcase clock signed T Wainwright, Overton, the twin swan neck pediment over a pair of free standing pilasters flanking the 34cm break arch silvered and brass dial with painted moon phase, centred with a subsidiary second dial and date aperture, along with the makers name, enclosing the two train movement striking on a saucer bell, the case with conforming pilasters flanking the shaped door over the lower board inlaid with satin wood banding, raised upon bracket feet, 236cm high, two weights and pendulumCondition reportMinor split to bottom board, with small chip to the case by the lock, back board is later.Movement appears well maintained although it is probably a marriage to the dial and is un tested with no guarantee of working condition. Overall the clock case and hood appears to be in good condition having undergone a degree of restoration with later repairs throughout.
