CONDITION REPORT: Height 123 cm, depth 30 cm. The top of the cabinet is in generally good order with no veneer splits. There is one ring mark and other very minor blemishes. The boxwood strung edge is in good order to the front and left hand side. There is one very tiny loss right at the rear of the right hand side return running for +/- 5 mm. This is not significant. The doors are not warped. The lock is present, but we do not have the key. The door fronts are in generally good condition with only minor marks around the keyhole area and two small scuffs to the left hand door front. There is a further minor scratch to the bottom of the right hand door front. The bracket feet are in good order. There is no evidence of any woodworm.

Height including bird 237 cm(see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: This clock is in extremely good order and could be used in its current state without the need for any repairs or restoration. The clock was restored +/- 10 years ago and is currently ticking away and striking as it should. It was purchased by the present owner from a reputed dealer for £7500. The case is in good condition all round. The trunk door is not warped. There is no evidence of any woodworm. The colour is good. The movement is clean and winds on both trains and is ticking as it should.

Lot 1893

A Victorian mahogany chiffonier, with carved and shelved upstand, moulded edge and three arched panelled doors flanked by corbals and raised on a plinth base. Width 165 cm, height 161 cm, depth 50.5 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The chiffonier is in generally very good order. The rear upstand and shelf have no issues and are of good colour. The scrolling supports are in good order also. The top is flat and has no splits or any significant scratching. The sides of the cabinet are not split. All doors close as they should with no warping. There are scuffs and marks around the lock escutcheons and a small scratch to the centre door panel. All locks are present. We do not have a key. The doors are not locked. The plinth base is in generally good condition all round with only minor marks as one would expect. The rear panels are all original.

Lot 1902

An early Victorian mahogany bookcase, with pediment and moulded cornice above a pair of glazed doors enclosing adjustable shelves and flanked by three quarter round columns, the base fitted with a drawer and cupboards and all raised on bun feet. Width 122 cm, depth 56 cm, height 228 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The bookcase is in generally good order. The colour is uniform. The pediment has two very small veneer losses, one to the front right hand corner and one to the rear left hand corner. The sides of the top have no splits. The doors are not warped and close as they should. We have the lock and key. The right hand door bottom right hand pane of glass is cracked. The piece of glass only corresponds with that are and would be relatively easy to replace. The base drawer is in good order with no issues. The side panels are in good condition. The doors are not warped. We have the lock and key. The base moulding is in good order and the feet are original. The backboards are all present and original.

Lot 1921

A Georgian oak longcase clock, with arched brass dial and two train striking movement with long trunk door flanked by fluted quarter column corners and raised on bracket feet. Height including finial 204 cm. CONDITION REPORT: The clock case is in generally extremely good condition. The hood is in good order. The door is not warped. The glass is not cracked. The trunk door is also not warped. The sides of the case are in good condition. The base boards are all in good order as are the original bracket feet. The silvered brass dial has some tarnishing. We have two weights. We have a pendulum. The pendulum bob is detached from the suspension. We have not had the clock going but if weight is applied to the going train the movement appears to operate. When weight is applied to the strike train the movement does strike. The movement appears to be complete although a little dirty. The case backboards have been replaced.

Lot 1927

A large Victorian Gothic Arts & Crafts inspired oak cupboard, the pediment with carved rosettes, the large panelled door with three marquetry panels above six further panels opening to shelves. Width 103 cm, height 242 cm, depth 52 cm (see illustration).

Lot 1933

A George III mahogany longcase clock by Emanuel Burton Kendal, with eight day striking movement with centre seconds and moon phase. Dial width 13 1/4", the case with swans neck pediment above a glazed door flanked by columns, the case with long trunk door and quarter column corners. Height 232 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The clock is in generally very good original unrestored condition. The movement appears to be all present. When weight is applied to both the strike and going trains the movement appears to operate. It is however extremely dirty and the suspension for the pendulum is missing so we have not had the clock actually running. Whilst slightly unusual we see no reason why the compensated pendulum is not original. The seatboard is original and the clock is quite clearly not a marriage. We have both weights and winding key. The case itself is in generally very good order. There are no losses to the hood. The very top arch of each swans neck appears to have been detached at some point but clearly a long time ago. There are a few old woodworm holes at the top of the hood between the swans neck pediment. The door is not warped but has slightly sprung at the corner joints. The pillars are in good order. The Greek key work beneath the hood is all present as is the blind fretwork. The trunk door has no significant warping. It closes correctly. There is only a very small gap between the top of the door and the case when fully closed. There is a smattering of old woodworm holes to the top sections of the trunk door but these are clearly old and long gone (14). The base is in generally good condition with only minor stress fractures to the veneers on the front panel. These are not lifting. The bracket feet are original and in generally good order. The left hand return base moulding has a small loss to the rear. The trunk door when viewed from underneath does show some warping. This is only when viewed from underneath which is not a likely occurrence. The backboards are original. We have posted more photographs online which should help.

Lot 1942

There is a small piece of left hand return moulding detached just beneath the bottom of the left hand pillar. We have the piece. The trunk door is not warped. The base is also in very good order. We have the pendulum. We also have both weights and the key. The clock has come to us from a local property and was ticking away in situ.

Height 6.5 cm (see illustration). CONDITION REPORT: The movement winds and is ticking away. The pointers adjust as they should. The dial is not cracked and in generally good order with only very minor blemishes. The rear door snaps shut as it should. The enamel to the front is in very good order as is the left hand side. The right hand side of the case has a small loss to the bottom right hand corner of the enamelled panel. The top of the case has what appears to be some fading to the pink pigmentation to the right hand rear corner. The hallmarks are clear. The exposed silverwork has the odd minor mark but no significant issues.
