Original vintage advertising poster for a theatre production of Ik Dien - spel ter verheerlijking van zuster Beatrijs door Herman Teirlinck Koninklijke Nederlandsche Schouwburg / I Serve - play to glorify Sister Beatrice by Herman Teirlinck at the Royal Dutch Theatre featuring artwork showing a lady sitting on the ground in front of a nun holding her hands together praying and a figure of Jesus Christ on a cross in the background, all with their heads bowed down, the title in bold blue and white lettering below with smaller images between the text and the 22-24 March 1924 weekend performance dates and times above. Herman Louis Cesar Teirlinck (1879-1967) was an award winning Belgian writer; his play Ik Dien premiered in Brussels in 1923 to critical success; the play was an adaptation of the 14th century poem Beatrijs / Beatrice about a nun who falls in love with a man and leaves her convent but returns fourteen years later to discover that Mary (the Mother of Jesus) has been acting in her place. Good condition, folds, tears, paper losses. Country of issue: Netherlands, designer: Lode, size (cm): 109x71, year of printing: 1923.

Seitenverkehrte Kopien nach den gleichnamigen, 1647/48 entstandenen Radierungen. 2 Bll. lavierte Tuschfederzeichnungen mit Einfassungslinie. 19,5 x 14,2 und 18,7 x 14,2 cm. An early 19th century mahogany eight day longcase clock - the hood with caddy top with central glazed panel and brass stop-fluted columns, over an arched trunk door and panelled base, the bell strike movement fronted by a painted Roman dial with gilt painted leafy scroll spandrels and arch, subsidiary seconds at 12 and arched date aperture at 6, with brass cased lead weights, pendulum and winder, requires some restoration, 233 cm high.

A small oak cupboard bookcase or miniature dresser - the stepped, ogee moulded cornice over four open shelves, above a pair of arched panelled doors with Art Nouveau style handle, enclosing a single shelf. (LWH 71 x 27 x 157.5 cm)* The board to the top of the cornice is slightly warped to the left hand end. A few small nicks and scuffs to the edges from use. The right hand door has a long shallow chip to the top of the moulded edge. The left hand door is currently detached and it has a damaged top hinge (pin missing) which needs replacing to re-affix.

An early 19th century mahogany eight-day longcase clock by George Suggate of Halesworth with rocking ship automata - the bell-strike, four-pillar movement fronted by a painted arched Arabic dial with arched date aperture, subsidiary seconds, gilt and painted floral spandrels and rocking ship automata to the arch, the good quality case with arched hood with outset brass stop-fluted columns (one missing), over an arched trunk door with stop-fluted canted corners, on a panelled base, 206 cm high, lacks pendulum and weights.

A Victorian mahogany side cabinet or chiffonier - the moulded top over two frieze drawers and a pair of panelled cupboard doors, enclosing a single removable shelf, on turned toupie feet. (LWH 93.5 x 42.5 x 91 cm)* Condition: The gallery back is missing and there is a chip to the left hand back cover of the top. Good colour overall but surface is quite dirty. Lock damaged to door - as a consequence a small brass latch has been added above the doors and the joint strip has been cut at the top to allow this to swivel. There is a shrinkage crack to the left hand door panel and a chip to one of the drawer handles. The structure is sound overall.
