An oak longcase clock, c.1795, the square dial with a silvered chapter ring, inscribed 'Jno Snelling, Alton', the off centre winding hole connecting to an eight day movement, case 175cm high dial 23.5cm (9 1/2in) CONDITION REPORT: No glass on hood door. Movement and dial - movement and case married. Case adapted to allow pendulum swing. One piece of moulding missing to trunk.
A mahogany cabinet on stand in the Chinese Chippendale style, the dentil moulded cornice with a pagoda pediment above a pair of ebony strung doors enclosing an 18th century japanned interior with an arrangement of ten drawers, the stand with a slide, on square chamfered legs joined by open fretwork stretchers, 95.5cm wide 56 cm deep 186cm high Made by Harvey's grandfather, Walter Ferry, during his time as chief designer for Parker Knoll.
