A Pair of Interchangeable Diamond and Hardstone 'Door Knocker' Earrings, by Van Cleef & Arpelsthe yellow oval clip pavé set throughout with round brilliant cut diamonds, suspending an open circular drop inset with round brilliant cut diamonds in star settings, with onyx and white agate hoop inserts, total estimated diamond weight 0.60 carat approximately, with clip fittings, cased by Paris Jewel Boutique, Van Cleef & Arpels at Bergdorf Goodmandrop length 2.3cmThe earrings are in good condition, however there is a fracture to one of the white agate hoops. They are stamped with the French eagle's head and with the maker's mark 'P&FILS', in our opinion would test as gold. They are also stamped 'VCA OR750 C83 B3224 A157'. The approximate qualities of the diamonds are; colour H/I/J, clarity VS1/VS2/SI1. Gross weight 28.9 grams. CR made 07.06.23.
A George I Burr Walnut and Featherbanded Bureau Cabinet, early 18th century, the cavetto cornice above bevelled glass mercury mirror doors enclosing a fitted interior of shelves and pigeon holes around a central cupboard door, the fall enclosing a leather writing surface, sliding well and an arrangement of pigeon holes and drawers, the base with two short over two long drawers with engraved brass handles, on moulded bracket feet103cm by 62cm by 205cmReasonable colour to the front and right hand panel however, left-hand side rather faded numerous veneer losses to the right panels with further splits. Also shrinkage splits around the mirror plates. Mirror plates are heavily tarnished. Some repair work around the cupboard door escutcheons also small repair above the lock on the fall section of the bureau Interior with later sliding well section, losses to the bracket feet as photographed no key but everything open
A George II Figured Walnut, Crossbanded and Parquetry-Decorated Bureau, 2nd quarter 18th century, the fall front enclosing a fitted interior of various drawers, pigeon holes and fluted pilasters all around a central cupboard door above a moulded oval panel inlaid with a sun burst, four pine-lined drawers below with later brasses, all between canted stiles, on a moulded base with bracket feet110cm by 60cm by 112cmReasonable uniform colour. The end panels are with numerous old decay which has been partly filled and polished (see images). There is a small section of moulding missing around the base. The later brasses with previous faint handle marks visible. The fitted interior is good - the bone handles have been removed and some are as found (a.f) - see images of the interior. There is no key but the bureau is open.
