A c1800 8 day longcased clock by James Paterson (clock & watchmaker in Banff, Aberdeenshire from 1779 -1829) 82" tall in a mellow mahogany case with glass fronted door, the break arch hood with side observation windows and brass capped pillars, the whole standing on large bun feet. The 12" x 16" brass arch dial with silvered centre engraved with flower and foliate decoration, Roman numerals, seconds and calendar dials, strike and silent options lever, matching steel hands, branched, scrolled spandrels and the boss above bearing the maker's name
