Edward Clark of London early George III ebonised bracket clock, having a signed silvered dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, date aperture and mock pendulum aperture, twin winding holes for a five pillar bell striking and repeating fusee movement with verge escapement, the backplate engraved with leaf scrolls around a chinoisserie pavilion, the brass bound bell-top case with carry handle, fishscale side frets, leaf door frets, and raised on brass ogee bracket feet, h.42.5cm (handle down) Note: This style of case is usually associated with Ellicott and was introduced soon after the middle of the 18th century Condition Report / Extra Information Fully working including strike and pull repeat. Dial good. Glass to inside of door showing plaster, probably later. Case good. Brass good, probably re-polished at some point. Ebony veneers good with minor age wear only. Provenance - private sale due to downsizing, purchased from Sotheby's approx. 20 years ago for £5000 hammer.

John Grant of Fleet Street London fine Regency mahogany domestic regulator, circa 1800, the 14" silvered signed dial, with subsidiary seconds dial and strike/not strike aperture above the XII, the large five pillar movement with deadbeat escapement maintaining power, wood rod pendulum with roller suspension and graduated regulation nut, the hours struck on two bells, the drum case with concave sided cresting and acorn finial, flanked by fluted corbels carved with flowers, the flush fitting flame mahogany veneered door within canted corners over a boxbase, the whole with ebony stringing, h.231.5cm Eminent clockmaker John Grant was free of the Clockmakers Company from 1781 and died in 1810

Door with minor shrinkage splits to veneer. Dial with some tarnishing. Lacking second sweep. Currently on replacement seatboard but sold with original distressed seatboard. Date ring loose. Pendulum weights detached from rod. Back with numerous wall mounting holes. Dial and movement original to each other.

Daniel Barrett of Chatham - an 18th century chinoisserie lacquered longcase clock, having an arch brass dial (w.11.5") with ships automata to the arch and later plaque entitled 'The Britannia', the chapter ring with Roman and Arabic numerals flanked by cast brass scroll leaf spandrels, enclosing named plate, subsidiary seconds dial, matted centre with date aperture, twin winding holes for an eight day brass four pillar movement striking on a bell, the case with arched panel doors decorated with figure scenes to a boxbase, h.217cm Condition Report / Extra Information Case lacquer work is distressed all over but appears original and untouched. Worst areas of lacquer distress around upper left corner of door. Some worm holes to hood at top and sides (not active). Dial good but with some tarnishing. Hands later black painted, probably replacement. Hour hand loose. Paintwork to ship and background very grubby and with lacquer residue, 'The Britannia' nameplate is applied. Movement and dial appear original to one another, requires light overhaul. Sold with pendulum and brass cased weights.

Two feet drilled. The whole slightly grubby and with age wear. Some polish residue. Otherwise no apparent faults.

A Life sized Film Prop in the form of a Mythological "Brazen Bull" from the Prime Time BBC 1 Drama -'Atlantis'. It is based upon the bull invented by Perillos of Athens who proposed it to Phalaris, the tyrant of Akragas, Sicily, as a new means of executing criminals. The bull would have been made originally entirely in hollow bronze, with an access door through which the condemned entered and were locked inside. It was fitted with an acoustic device that converted their screams into the sound of a bull when a fire was set under it, heating the metal until the person inside roasted to death. A circa 1910 mahogany long case clock, the arched brass and silvered dial inscribed "Stokes Kensington", with brass Arabic numerals and subsidiary seconds dial, chime/silent and Whittington/Westminster dials and eight day musical movement, with nine gongs, the case with all over blind fretwork carved decoration, the hood surmounted by lion mask, raised on claw and ball feet, 247 cm tall CONDITION REPORTS Overall with some light general wear, a few small knocks and scuffs, and some wear where the glazed arched door opens, and some scuffs around key escutcheon, some slight polish deposits to the blind fretwork, a few scratches, some knocks and scuffs to the mouldings around the base section and to the feet, but generally overall the colour appears good and it appears in good order. It is not known whether or not the mechanism is in full working order - please see photos for details of mechanism. A few chips to the carved decoration including part of a petal missing to the carved decoration to the panel to the base section. Width of base section approx. 52.5 cm, depth of base section approx 40 cm. Height of clock excluding feet (ie from top of horns, to bottom of plinth base) approx 235cm.

An 18th Century oak long case clock, the eight day movement with brass dial with Roman and Arabic numerals, inscribed "Whitehurst Derby 1763", the hood with broken arch pediment, 218 cm tall CONDITION REPORTS Diameter of dial approx. 33 cm, dial with general wear and scuffs, hands with some lighter areas possibly re-soldering. Case with wear and scuffs, various alterations, repairs and losses including key escutcheon missing, keyhole position moved, no locking mechanism, various holes drilled, nails and screw repairs, small wood section screwed to front to hold door closed, various chips and losses to edges, mouldings repaired using various screw holes and bolts, various splits to sides and mouldings, various replacement sections to carcass, various splits to carcass, and some areas of moulding and corners etc. missing - please see photos for examples. Hood with fabric nailed to top, fabric is torn and damaged, various chips to mouldings, various splits and chips to edges. Finial area appears to have a section missing and finial has been moved to one side and re-attached. Pendulum with some mis-shaping, weights with some rusting and losses. Various holes drilled to carcass (please see photos for examples). Moulding/bottom of plinth appears to be missing. Case and clock generally in need of some attention.

An early 19th Century mahogany cased long case clock, the eight day movement with enamelled arch dial, the strike / silent dial over a chapter ring with Roman numerals enclosing a subsidiary date dial and seconds dial, inscribed "Perigal & Duterreau, Bond Street" (John Perigal and John Duterreau circa 1803-40), 219 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Door very warped and moulding loose and split, overall case with some splits and lifting to veneers, some areas of moulding missing, some old woodworm holes, some re-painting to gilding to pilasters, various knocks and chips, some splits to arched cresting, some splits to side, some undulations to veneers, overall colour appears to be reasonably good, dial with some scratches and appears to have been re-sprayed/re-painted and has some paint to edges verso.

A mahogany medicine cabinet with pull out drawer by Shringweiler & Co. Makers London, and contents of assorted vintage medical items to include glass pestle and mortar, glass stoppered bottles, etc., 23.75 cm x 19.25 cm CONDITION REPORTS Bottom has new green cloth. All over impressed marks and dark coloured marks. Some small scratches through out. To the front door, deep scratch. Some small scratches to the base where the doors open and close. Deep impressed mark to the left hand side. To the door at the top the glue is becoming loose and will need a small amount of attention. All over some signs of general wear and tear. Some draw lining is becoming loose and is all stained. Assorted tools are becoming tarnished, some with small nicks and signs of wear and tear. Most of the glass bottles have small nicks and losses mainly to the stoppers. Everything with general wear and tear through out.

A circa 1900 mahogany vitrine in the Louis XV taste, the Rosso marble top with pierced gallery over a single glazed door flanked by glazed panelled sides on cabriole supports with gilt brass embellishments throughout, 66 cm wide x 140 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Overall with wear and scuffs, gilt metal mounts with quite a lot of tarnish and very blackened, and with various dents and warping and some lifting, woodwork with some old woodworm holes, some splits and chips and appears to have had some repairs to legs, shaped glass panels appear to be OK, fabric to interior has wear, fading and dirt.

A circa 1900 mahogany vitrine in the Louis XV taste, the Rosso marble top with pierced gallery over a single glazed door flanked by glazed panelled sides on cabriole supports with gilt brass embellishments throughout, 68 cm wide x 141 cm high CONDITION REPORTS Wear and dirt to fabric to interior, and shelves appear to have been re-lined with green fabric, gilt metal mounts with various wear and tarnish and blackened, some gilt metal mounts missing to back right leg, legs with some repairs, chips and scuffs, some old woodworm holes, some separating at joins, some warping and dents to metal mounts, one gilt metal paw missing.

An early Victorian mahogany linen press, the arched pediment with beaded decoration over similarly decorated figured panelled doors enclosing a later hanging rail, over two short and two long drawers on turned feet, 124 cm wide x 216 cm high CONDITION REPORTS The piece is in two sections. Some deep impressed marks all over but espescially to the sides. The majority of these marks are dark in colour. Some small scratches and general wear and tear through out. There are some dark impressed marks to the front espescially to the right hand door. There is a missing section to the top ont he left hand side. To the right 'finial' has some evidence of cracking and one small round hole. To the right hand side there is some veneer at the bottom becoming loose and some holes near the back. To the left hand side there is a deep score mark and small section of missing veneer. There is a small section of missing veneer o the bottom right corner. To the back top right hand corner there is evidence of repairs. There are some scratches around the key holes. The interior of the linen press section is missing and converted to a hanging area. General wear and tear through out.
