A JAPANESE PARQUETRY AND LACQUER CABINET 19th century The pair of cupboard doors inset with a shaped rectangular lacquer panel decorated with an ornamental pheasant amongst blossoming prunus, a single drawer below, the interior fitted with an arrangement of six drawers On later ebonised wood stand 67cm x 75cm x 39cm; 145cm x 82cm x 43cm including stand Condition: The lower drawer front has bowed slightly and as such does not sit flush at the left hand side, no key for this lock. Cabinet doors with key to lock but the lock is a little problematic. Splits around the lacquer panels visible from the interior of the dors (see additinal images) and some of this visible to the exterior of the left hand door. The interior drawers a a little stiff to open and close, and there is some light wear to the lacquer. Sides and top with some historical scratching and wear and some general signs of age. The modern stand has a weak back leg that is in need of some attention and there is some damage to the fretwork.  This is an auction of preowned and antique items.
