A CONTINENTAL OAK CASED LONGCASE CLOCK the brass coloured dial with Arabic Art Nouveau style hour markers and hands, the twin weight driven movement striking on metal rods, the case with slightly convex glazed panel to dial, the trunk with three bevel glazed panels 45cm wide 26cm deep 213cm high Condition Report : generally good condition, movement not tested. Arrived locked with no key. We have found a key which opens the door, but obviously not original. Good early 19th century rosewood Davenport, the sliding brass galleried top with green tooled leather inset writing surface, opening to reveal an arrangement of drawers and catches to reveal a secret drawer on the top right hand side with compartments for three ink bottles and a pen well, with a brushing slide over a panelled cupboard door to the right hand side and a drawer over a fixed panelled side to the other, supported upon four squat bun feet, 24" wide, 24" deep, 34.5" high

Johnson (John?) of Grays Inn Passage, London. An early 19th century, mahogany cased twin fusee, eight-day bracket clock with pull repeat, fitted with an incremental stirrup pendulum. Bearing engraved signature to the backplate with pendulum stay. The white painted dial. marked in Roman numerals with strike/night lever behind the door fitted gilt brass folding handle fish scale grilles and supported on ogee bracket feet. 40 cm high x 29 cm wide x 19.5 cm deep.Footnote: John Johnson is recorded as working at 9 Grays Inn Passage between 1770-1800.See Loomes, Brian. Watchmakers and Clockmaker of the World, page 425.Condition report: I have wound the clock and it runs and when the corresponding hour is reached it chimes proving both going and chiming train are intact, however, I can not vouvch for its accuracy or reliability.The fusee is a steel cable rather than a chainThe case has a crack at the top near the entablature that the handle fixes to and other fine cracks to the case.The movement is very clean and looks to have been recently cleaned.The circular dial looks like painted enamel the name and details are becoming feint and the dial also shows some marks and chip around the winding mandrelsThe rear door is very tight and seems to be slightly twisted and the hinges are looseSee further images
A 19th century Austrian 'Dachluhr style' single weight, wall regulator, 85 cm high x 25 cm wide x 12 cm deepCondition report: The regulator will need some work to make good. Movement slightly loose in case, and needs re-fixing with screwsI have now taken the movement out of the case and can see the signs of old fixings on the backplate, these do not correspond with the backboard but the case doesn't seem to have any unused holes, it is possible that the movement did not start life in this case?The movement seems to be extremely clean but some signs of rough attempts at restoration have taken place in the past.The door is not hinged but lifts out The dial door is hinged.
