This instrument is sold with a file of correspondence dating from the 1960s between the specialist conservator John Budgen and the vendor`s late mother for whom he repaired the organ. Mr Budgen observes in one letter that "I am inclined to think it is one of the best domestic ones I know; it is a little bigger than most which helps to keep it steady and even, where the small ones are a bit breathless." For a number of years the instrument was used in Wymondham Church, Norfolk and now requires conservation. In very original condition, the sides of the organ with several shrinkage cracks the hand written labels heavily stained and in some cases illegible, the organ lacking the door to the barrel compartment, the knobs and handles all original and present, the other side somewhat faded, the door to the secondary barrel cabinet warped and the cabinet with small losses, entirely unrestored and removed for the present sale from longterm storage in an outbuilding or similar
