The veneer on the lower part at the rear is peeling and has losses. There has been a little movement with associated veneer damage on the frame of the right door at the top, some general wear and marks. There is a slight gap between the doors. The drawers work smoothly.

A 19th century marble-topped breakfront calamander, gilded and floral marquetry credenza: the slightly overhanging, variegated, cream marble top above a floral marquetry frieze to the front and sides and further over a central outset panelled door with floral marquetry emanating from a ribbed classical-style urn and flanked by four caryatid style outset columns with gilded masks, two further glazed doors enclosing ebonised shelves fronted with a gilded running guilloché design, the sides elaborately panelled and decorated with outset vertical lozenges with further floral marquetry, raised on plinth style base (193cm wide x 49cm deepest x 112cm high, fully restored).  The present Vendor informs the item was bought directly from Harrods, London at a cost of approximately £25,000

A Thomas Moore of Ipswich three-train verge table clock. Striking on 8 bells and a single bell, with a six pillar fusée movement and verge escapement. Engraved backplate with makers name 'Thos Moore Ipswich'. Contained in an ebonised case with brass architrave, four brass pineapples on the top corners. Brass carrying handle. Glazed panels to sides and a glazed back door. Raised on a brass base with four brass bracket feet.8" arch brass dial, mask and Rococo-style spandrels. Cartouche: 'Thos Moore of Ipswich below 12 o'clock', strike silent in the arch. Dimensions: 23" (to top of handle) x 13" x 8". Condition report : A good clock restored by seller and working at time of cataloguing. Good condition with winding key and one door key. Movement not fully tested.Note Thomas Moore is listed as working in Ipswich in the early 1700s and his work is of very good quality.
